War Memorial at Oncenter
Syracuse, New York
Episode VII
DARK MATCH
BOBO SWEETCAKES AND DAVID SLAYTON DEF. JOHN WYATT AND MARTIN JOSEPHUS - An uncanny team, Sweetcakes and Slayton pick up the victory.
The opening video package is interrupted. The video feed turns to static. After a few seconds,
"Reach out and touch faith"
Marilyn Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" takes over the sound system. The song plays for about a minute, and that's when Crest Silver walks out onto the stage. Crash Jackson is behind him. They walk to the ring, Crest receiving a microphone.
Crest Silver: Many have wondered why I did what I did three weeks ago. Luke Mathews said it himself: he took what he believed were AXW's top four prospects and gave them a title shot. When you think top prospects number one on that list should be Crest Silver. Why was I overlooked, Luke? I decided I wasn't going to let Luke Mathews make the same mistake twice I and took it upon myself to make sure I wasn't overlooked again. As for Crash Jackson, the Adrenaline Championship is beneath him. Crash Jackson belongs at the top and he knows that I can take him there, which is why we have joined forces. I can guide Crash Jackson to the path of success, and together, we will not be stopped.
Justin Wyndham walks out onto the stage with a microphone.
Justin Wyndham: You two are nothing more than cowards. The reason you didn't get a title shot is simply because you don't deserve one. To get to the top you have to go through me, but that won't happen because I am the best wrestler on this planet today!
Crash Jackson: You didn't look like the best wrestler on this planet when you tapped out to some punk from CCW in the Super J-Cup.
Justin Wyndham: And you didn't look so tough when you got beat by a guy named Bobo Sweetcakes.
"The Enemy" then takes over before anyone else can speak and Luke Mathews walks out on to the stage, standing next to Justin.
Luke Mathews: I apologize for not considering to put you in the Four Way Championship Match, Crest. But I'm a fair man, and I'll give you the chance to prove yourself to me tonight. Crest Silver will take on the AXW Champion Justin Wyndham!
Justin nods his head in approval, and starts to make his way to the back, before Luke interrupts him.
Luke Mathews: Hold on just a minute, Justin. I hope you were going to go get a referee, because that match is right now!
NON-TITLE MATCH
JUSTIN WYNDHAM VS. CREST SILVER
Justin headed down to the ring. Crest Silver looked very impressive during the match. Justin would look to hit El Fenix, but was pushed off of the top rope by Crash Jackson to the floor, causing a disqualification. Crash and Crest leave Justin lying on the floor as the leave to the back.
Mike Vincent: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to AXW. Tonight we will see the start of the AXW Women's Championship Tournament, and we will be having special guest Sierra Starr on commentary for those matches. In tonight's main event we will see Jack Shadow take on Magnum Wolf! Let's now take it backstage to Caitlin Shay, who is standing by with a guest.
Caitlin Shay: Ladies and gentlemen, I am very happy o introduce my guest tonight. My guest is one of the greatest performers to ever step foot inside a squared circle. Ladies and gentlemen, the one, the only..... Caitlin Shay! Caitlin, tonight you will be competing against Oceania in the first round of the Women' Championship Tournament. Can I get your thoughts on the match?
Caitlin takes a step to her left.
Caitlin Shay: Well, Caitlin, many would say that I'm the underdog going into this tournament. I've only been competing in this business for half a year, a lot of people still think I'm pretty green. Tonight is my opportunity to prove them wrong. When you think AXW, you think of the feud between Duncan Aries and Cameron Rockefeller, you think of the great Luke Mathews, you might even think of Dustin Windows. After I turn Oceania into nothing more but a mere puddle, I will go on to win the whole tournament and make my name synonymous with AXW.
Caitlin steps back to her right.
Caitlin Shay: Yeah, Oceania doesn't stand a chance does she? Good luck tonight, Caitlin, though I know you won't need it, and thank you for your time.
Mike Vincent: Well that was... different. Let's continue the night with some tag team action!
TAG TEAM
YUGANAGI TWINS VS. FRENCH REVOLUTION
The Yuganagi Twins are set for their debut. French Revolution would come out, calling the Yuganagi Twins "Typical American scum." The Yuganagi Twins showed that they could hang within the realms of the tag team division, hitting both the Wing-Man and the Fer-Sure. It was a Fleurs-De-Lis from JPF to Chad Yuganagi that saw a victory for the French Revolution.
We open up in Syracuse, not far from a busy intersection in town. People are walking by as a pretty ordinary table has been set up, complete with velvet cloth covering it. We hear honking horns, the hustle and bustle of people, when all of a sudden, there it is, standing before us.
A DeLorean. Not just any mind you, but one with an old fashioned phone booth strapped to the top of it. This. This is no ordinary time machine. Is that a hot tub in the back?
Anyways, out of the doors, walking in slow motion are The Push, Jimmy Reynolds and Tim McDermott. Both are clad in Member’s Only jackets covering t-shirts bearing their own team name on it in very bright, day-glo style colors. On their feet are British Knight sneakers and they are wearing Levi’s jeans. Jimmy has dark sunglasses on, Timmy with fingerless gloves that look like they came right out of the video for “Beat It.” As they get closer to the table, we see that Jimmy has a boombox over his shoulder as “Dance Pants” the team’s very own theme song, is now heard playing. They nod to one another, place the boombox down, turn it off and then crack two cheesy grins to the camera.
Jimmy Reynolds: “Ello, ello, ello, welcome Push fans from all across the nation!”
Timmy McDermott: “Feel the vibration!”
Jimmy Reynolds: “Oh I’m sure they do, Timmy, and why not? I mean what team in the ENTIRE EWS is as entertaining as The Push, huh? What team has their very own theme music that they made themselves? None of them, that’s who, and we’re here to share with you aliens and people of the future what it means to BE hip, to BE cool, to BE the 1980s! Show em’ Timmy!”
Timmy just stands there smiling, until Jimmy elbows him and he puts a huge cardboard box on the table. He fishes around in it and pulls out..a Trapper Keeper?
Timmy McDermott: “We know it’s the summer time, kiddies, but it’s never too soon to start stocking up on all your favorite school supplies, like this here Trapper Keeper, complete with picture of E.T. and that oh so lovely sound”
Timmy opens and closes the Trapper Keeper, seemingly looking like he’s going to have an orgasm.
Timmy McDermott: “Priceless, right? Don’t be a fool-“
Jimmy and Timmy: “STAY IN SCHOOL!”
Jimmy Reynolds: “Ya know, Timmy?”
Timmy McDermott: “Yes, Jimmy?”
Jimmy Reynolds: “I don’t think the people of this Tron universe are entertained.”
Timmy McDermott: “What do you mean?”
Jimmy Reynolds: “Well their televisions are flat, their phones are small enough to be an Atari cartridge, and their video games take hours just to “upload” whatever that means. I think they need some power.
Jimmy and Timmy: “NINTENDO POWER!”
And with that Jimmy pulls out a small tube television and hooks up an original Nintendo system. Holding up the gold Legend Of Zelda cartridge, as both even make angelic sounds before placing it in the console. They hit the power button.
Nothing.
Timmy and Jimmy do rock/paper/scissors to decide who is blowing in the cart, and Jimmy gets the raw end of the deal and gives it a try.
Still nothing. Jimmy is getting pretty angry at the cartridge as Timmy motions to the camera man for an aside.
Timmy McDermott: “Jimmy tends to take his video games a bit too seriously. But you know funky dudes and dudettes, speaking of things that blow, we feel that most of the teams here in AXW do in fact blow, at least in comparison to The Push. We hope we educated all you futuristic pod people with our inventions from the 80s, so until next time-“
Jimmy Reynolds: “Timmy, I got it to work!”
Timmy McDermott: “This has been a special message from-“
Both Jimmy and Timmy sing it proud and sing it loud.
“THE PUUUUUSSSSHHH!”
And with that, “Dance Pants” starts again as Jimmy and Timmy take turns playing The Legend Of Zelda before we fade to black.
AXW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
ROUND ONE
CAITLIN SHAY VS OCEANIA
Sierra Starr would go on to say that while she does like the new attitude of Caitlin Shay, she feels her inexperience will get the best of her. Caitlin made quick work of Oceania, planting her with the Broken Ending. Sierra said that Oceania was probably just having an off night, and is looking forward to see if Caitlin can get past the second round.
Craig Brooks is with The Cross City Stallions.
Craig Brooks: I'm here with the AXW Tag Team Champions, Max Maximus and Marky Mustang. Gentlemen, wi--
The lights start to flicker, before turning completely off. With the interview set pitch-black, we hear Inferno's voice.
Inferno: Your time is running out. Enjoy your fluke win while it lasts. Soon, the Hand of Blood will reign supreme.
The lights turn back on and Max, Marky, and even Craig Brooks, are laying on the floor unconscious.
TRIPLE THREAT
SLAMSLEY MCBODY VS. SEAN FOSTER VS. PYROSTAR
Slamsley and Pyrostar double teamed Foster quite a bit. Once Foster was out of the equation for a bit, Slamsley and Pyrostar tried to one up each other, with the larger McBody ending up getting control. With the no disqualification nature of a triple threat match, Sean did not hesitate to come back into the equation and spray Intensity into the face of McBody. Sean seemingly forgot Pyrostar was in the match, which caused him to be caught up in the Raining Stars, giving Pyrostar the submission victory. As a victim of Intensity, Pyrostar immediately checked on Slamsley after the match.
AXW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
ROUND ONE
BRAYDEN QUINN VS. CASSIE CASSIDY
Sierra Starr favored Cassie in this match, saying that wrestling runs through the blood of the Cassidy family, not unlike the Starr family. Brayden tried her best to prove herself tonight but was a victim to the Crowning Achievement.
After a video package highlighting the AXW Supershow, it's main event time.
JACK SHADOW VS. MAGNUM WOLF
Magnum Wolf made his entrance first. When Jack Shadow's music played, he walked onto the stage, but was not dressed to compete. Shadow said that his neck was still bothering him after being piledriven onto the ramp three weeks ago. Shadow said that he found Wolf a new opponent. Out walks Crash Jackson, with Crest Silver behind him. Crash slides into the ring and immediately the match begins with a slugfest. The best of Crash Jackson was brought out tonight, as he looked very impressive against the legendary Magnum Wolf. Magnum Wolf was of course even more impressive but that goes without saying. Crash Jackson wound up taking a .357 Magnum, but before Magnum could go for a pin, Crest Silver intervenes, thus starting another slugfest, this time between Wolf and Silver. Jackson would soon get back to his feet and the double team on Wolf would begin. The crowd pops as Justin Wyndham and Jamie Fuller take to the ring, both attacking Jackson while Magnum regains control against Silver. Silver gets taken out with a .357 Magnum, and at the same time Fuller and Wyndham whip Jackson into the ropes, only for Jackson to take them both out with a double Blind Rage. Not realizing that his partner was taken out, Jackson looks to focus back on Wolf, only to get Murder Plexed to a roar from the crowd. Wolf helps Wyndham and Fuller back to their feet as the show comes to an end.
