New York City, New York
Episode IX
AXW treated its crowd to some matches prior to their television taping, further psyching up the capacity crowd for what was to come.
DARK MATCH
Jack Shadow vs. Mateusz Bartkowiak
Shadow would demand a microphone and tell the capacity crowd that he deserved better treatment than this, and that Luke Mathews was going to hear from his lawyers soon enough, unless he was given a quality opponent to beat down. This brought out the gentle giant, Mateusz who had a mic of his own, saying where he comes from, it’s not about talking, it’s about fighting, and if Shadow wanted a fight and a quality opponent, he wasn’t going anywhere. As the big man entered the ring, Shadow would attack him from behind with a mic shot and start beating him down to the mat as referee Zack Fields would call for the bell to start the match. Shadow would continue the onslaught, stomping away at his opponent and raining down some solid rights on him, before backing up and yelling into the crowd “THIS THE BEST YOU’VE GOT, AXW?” Shadow would measure his opponent and charge in for an attack, only to be leveled with a shoulder block, followed up by a LOUD open hand chop and a big boot. Shadow was whipped hard into the buckle and speared in the corner, before a Polish Hammer took him up and over as he crashed into the mat face first. The Polish superstar was firing on all cylinders, hitting a powerbomb for a long two count. Shadow would try to battle back with some chops of his own, even hitting a nice running powerslam on the big man for a long two count as well, but Mateusz wouldn’t be denied, hitting the WhiteRed Drop off the top rope, flattening Shadow and getting the victory.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, MATEUSZ BARTKOWIAK!!
Post Match: The big man would celebrate, as there were even a congregation of fans from Poland who were holding up their native flag, some embracing their fellow countryman as Shadows would lay on the mat, holding his ribs, looking incredibly pissed off.
DARK MATCH
TAG TEAM
Yuganagi Twins vs. French Revolution
The capacity crowd enjoyed a solid tag team match between two teams that exchanged some words on the last program. The twins started off strong with some solid tag team moves, quick tags that allowed Chad to hit a nice array of suplexes, and Bruce to quicken the pace with some dropkicks and arm drags to take the Revolution off of their game, but it wasn’t long before The French Revolution battled back into the match, showcasing how well oiled of a tag team machine they are, JPF showing a real aggressive side in there with Bruce, using submission moves and classic wrestling holds like armbars and leg locks to keep the one twin grounded. Reviere would continue where his partner left off, leveling both twins with double underhook suplexes and moves from the second rope like elbow and fist drops. In the end, Chad would counter a big splash from JPF, hit a DDT and tag in Bruce, who would knock Reviere off the apron before hitting JPF with StarStrukk for the victory.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, THE YUGANAGI TWINS!!
Post Match: As the twins celebrated, Reviere would enter with a chair, clobbering both men from behind. Helping his partner to his feet, The French Revolution would wear down their opponents with their respective French and Quebec flags before draping those flags over their fallen foes as The French National Anthem would play to a chorus of boos from the crowd, both men with their hands over their hearts in salute to the anthem.
DARK MATCH
Damien Steele vs. ?
Damien Steele would talk to fans on his way to the ring, mic in hand, declaring himself the only real, genuine wrestler in the company, and further stating that there are a lot of people on the roster that represent the very worst kinds of performers in the industry, but assuring the people that he was here to bring real wrestling back, whether anyone liked it or not. He would then issue a challenge to anyone in the back to prove him wrong. This would bring out Pyrostar who would enter the ring and stand right next to Steele who would ask “Well, Pedro, have anything to say?” to which Pyrostar would deliver a solid buzzsaw kick right to the temple of Steele as referee Zack Fields would call for the start of the match. Pyrostar would start with a dazzling display of arm drags, followed by a flying headscissors and a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Not letting up, a springboard cross body and a corkscrew plancha would each earn the masked superstar two more nearfalls on the newcomer, but it was obvious Steele wasn’t here to play around. Pyrostar would try for a frogsplash but meet nothing but the knees of Steele, who would then open up his attack with STIFF knee shots to the ribs, followed by a lung blower and a gut buster. Steele would then hit a bridging Northern Lights suplex for a two count, but didn’t stop there, hitting a Complete Shot for another near fall. Steele would signal for the end, hitting the 2nd City Sleeper on Pyrostar for the 3 count and the victory.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, DAMIEN STEELE!!
Post Match: Steele slaps his hands together like it was too easy, before grabbing the mic and saying in the most arrogant, snarky voice imaginable, “Next victim!” before dropping the mic on Pyrostar and leaving to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
Immediately following the opening video package, "Ultranumb" plays and the AXW Champion Justin Wyndham makes his way to the ring.
Justin Wyndham: Typically, I'd probably come out here, call out Crest Silver, calling him a coward, which he still is by the way, but I'm not going to do that. I instead actually have a bone to pick with Magnum Wolf. Magnum, please come out here.
After a moment, "Perfect Strangers" plays, and out walks Magnum Wolf to the ring wearing a "Mr. AXW" t-shirt.
Justin Wyndham: Two weeks ago, you rolled Crash Jackson into the ring leading him and Silver only to attack me further, and then you ran to the back.
Magnum Wolf: Justin, I didn't even know you were in the ring. Second of all, did you not see Jamie Fuller tied up in the back on the jumbotron? I went to the back to you know, help untie him. When you become a world champion, Justin, you need to watch your own back and defend yourself rather than relying on someone to help you all the time.
Justin Wyndham: I just figured that since you got caught up in this as well, that you'd help me. But, since I am the AXW Champion, there's one more bone that I have to pick with you, and that's you walking around in t-shirts claiming to be "Mr. AXW." I didn't earn this championship for someone else to claim to be the face of the company.
Magnum Wolf: Well, to answer the first part of your statement, I'll fight my battles when they need to be fought, I'm not gonna fight your battles for you. And when it comes down to it, Justin, I've been wrestling in this business for 15 years. I've won 16 world championships to your one. Magnum Wolf has become one of the biggest names in this industry. So quite frankly, I'll call myself whatever I damn well please. Are we done here?
Before Justin can answer, Magnum Wolf has already left the ring.
We open to a close up of a smirking Caitlin Shay, microphone in hand.
Caitlin Shay: “Another beautiful day of not getting mugged, raped, or forced to watch this damn state’s sports teams. What a glorious day to be alive!”
Caitlin turns and sees Hailey Harris, standing there for an interview, her expression instantly changing to a sour one.
Caitlin Shay: “Spoke too soon.”
Hailey Harris: “You know, I’ve been wondering, why are you always so miserable? Ran out of your favorite brand of tampon?”
Caitlin Shay: “At least I know how to use them properly. You’re that one that can never get over no matter what name you have, right?”
Harris just stares at Caitlin and leans in.
Hailey Harris: “Cute. I’m the one that’s going to win this whole tournament.”
Caitlin Shay: “Oh really? This just in ladies and gentlemen, hell has frozen over and pigs can actually fly!”
Hailey Harris: “I think it’s about time someone shut that mouth of yours up..for good!”
Caitlin Shay: “That’s funny, I swore this was the time for me to tell you to use mouthwash..or Draino, whichever you prefer. Your breath is rank.”
Before Harris can retort, Sean Foster emerges on the scene, a shiteating grin on his face, clapping.
Sean Foster: “Bravo, Caitlin. I knew you had it in you. You know, I’d love to see you put this overrated spot monkey in her place.”
Caitlin Shay: “That cologne you’re wearing..delightful.”
Sean Foster: “Thank you. Might I add, your interview skills are chock full of..intensity.”
Suddenly Slamsley McBody emerges behind Harris.
Slamsley McBody: “Look Hailey, it’s Tweedle Twit and Tweedle Dumbass!”
Foster shoots a glare at Slams.
Slamsley McBody: “I think the answer to this little problem is I head over to ol’ Lukey, and get ourselves a mixed tag match, because gosh, it has to be more entertaining than the two of you combined! Whatcha thing, Hailey?”
Hailey Harris: “I’d like that. See you two bimbos out there!”
Slams and Hailey walk away as Caitlin gives Foster a look of endearment.
Caitlin Shay: “What dream of mine did you walk out of?”
Sean Foster: “Let’s get those two tools, sweet cheeks.”
The duo walk away, but not before Caitlin turns to the camera and makes a gagging motion.
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
ROUND ONE
Sapphire Majeroit vs. Stella Quinn
Sierra Starr was once again on commentary as these two fan favorites would do battle, both wrestling a very no nonsense, in your face style of grappling. Sapphire would show off her skills early, hitting Stella with a short arm clothesline, calf kick, and a snapmare followed by a front dropkick for a quick pin. Sapphire would then put on a suplex clinic, hitting a snap suplex, followed by a gutwrench suplex for another pin attempt, but Stella would show her resolve, fighting her way back into the match, countering another snap suplex attempt by Sapphire into a jawbreaker, followed by a spinning heel kick and a corkscrew leg drop for a two count. Stella wasn’t done, hitting a one handed bulldog for another pin attempt and then a tiger suplex, but neither would put Sapphire away. The two women would begin exchanging chops, then some solid rights before Stella would swing and miss, leaving her wide open for a super German suplex from Sapphire, dropping Stella face first. Sapphire would try for a sharpshooter, only for Stella to kick her away. Sapphire would go to bring Stella to her feet only to be dropped with The Paparazzi Killer in quick and effective fashion, as the inverted legdrop bulldog would drop Sapphire hard into the mat. Sierra herself was impressed with Quinn as Stella would get the victory and move on in the tournament.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, STELLA QUINN!!
Post Match: Sierra would say she had to take care of something, saying she’d be back, walking to the back as Stella would celebrate her victory, Sapphire left clutching her face as Stella would head to the back.
We open with a yawning Caitlin Shay, standing by with the AXW Tag Team Champions, The Cross City Stallions, Marky Mustang and Max Maximus.
Caitlin Shay: “Oh joy, technical guy, big bulking muscle head. This should be rich. So, anything?”
Marky Mustang: “Caitlin, not even your sour puss can ruin the mood Max and I are in tonight, because tonight, it’s about redemption.”
Max Maximus: “THAT’S RIGHT, TONIGHT IT’S ABOUT GETTING REVENGE AND PROVING TO THE WORLD THAT WE ARE THE BEST TAG TEAM IN ALL OF EWS!”
Caitlin Shay: “Eh, that’s a big of stretch there Old Yeller. I could probably name 3 teams that are better.”
Max Maximus: “THERE’S NOBODY BETTER, GIRL, NOBODY!”
Caitlin Shay: “Nope. Deadly Alliance, 2MG, heck I think those masked goons from Japan, Thunder and Lightning are better, and they’re more womanly than I am.”
Max Maximus: “I TOLD YOU-“
Marky Mustang: “Max, Max, calm down. Let the little drama queen have her fun. We’ve got titles to defend.”
The champs walk away, with Caitlin having an uneasy look on her face.
Caitlin Shay: “Talking about girls and all that yelling, he’s the loudest pedophile I’ve ever met.”
We open outside the arena, where The Push stand, as the opening cords of “Mr. Roboto” by Styx blare. Epic music for an epic tag team.
Jimmy Reynolds: “Tonight, Armada, we see how good you really are.”
Tim McDermott: “Or if you’re made of parts from Japan, you Mr. Robotos!”
Jimmy Reynolds: “When push comes to shove..”
Tim McDermott: “You don’t worry, be happy!”
Jimmy Reynolds: “Uh yeah. And..um..YOU’VE GOTTA FIGHT, FOR YOUR RIGHT..”
Tim McDermott: “TO PARTY!”
Jimmy Reynolds: “Much better. Later, Push fans!”
“Mr. Roboto” kicks in again as both men begin doing the robot as the scene fades out.
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
ROUND ONE
Tanya Jones vs. ?
Tanya Jones would look ready for battle as Mike Vincent and Benji Mathews wondered where Sierra Starr was and if she was returning for commentary in this, the last first round match in the tournament. To a nice pop from the crowd, Sierra would emerge in her wrestling gear. Sierra would hit the ring and it wasn’t long before these two tough women would begin slugging it out. Jones would try to strike early with chops, European uppercuts, even hitting a spear on Sierra, but it wasn’t enough to put her down. Jones would continue the punishment, even hitting Sierra with a bicycle kick of her own for a long two count, but Sierra would press on, making her way back into the match with chops of her own, followed up by a brutal running powerslam for a two count. A hard discus clothesline would clobber Jones but it still wasn’t enough to put her away for Sierra. A sharpshooter from Starr was countered into a small package which nearly sealed the win for Jones, but a sudden bicycle kick from Starr would catch Jones right under the jaw gaining the victory for arguably the odds on favorite to win the tournament.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, SIERRA STARR!!
Post Match: Jones would rub her jaw, exiting the ring and looking up at Starr who would just laugh and celebrate her victory with the crowd.
BEST OF 5 SERIES
MATCH 1
The Push vs. The Armada
The Push and The Armada, two fan favorite tag teams, began their best of five series with a bang, the crowd really looking forward to this one. Kyle Thomas and Jimmy Reynolds began for their respective teams, trading arm drags and other fast paced moves, Jimmy hitting a monkey flip and Kyle landing on his feet only to turn and eat a dropkick from Reynolds. The Push would work like a well oiled machine early on, making frequent tags to wear down Thomas with double team moves, double clotheslines, double dropkicks, and a double crescent kick, but Thomas would counter McDermott with an enziguri before making the tag to his partner, Ian Winter who would level one half of The Push with a german suplex, inverted suplex, and almost ending the match with a bicycle kick. McDermott would dig down deep, as Winter would lower his head too soon leaving him wide open for a DDT. Both men would make the tag to their partners as Thomas and Reynolds would once again exchange blows. Reynolds would get the upper hand, even hitting The Boom Box (Ghetto Blaster) on Thomas, but as Thomas stumbled back into the ropes, Winter would make the tag as Reynolds would fly in for a cross body, but Thomas would duck as Winter would catch Reynolds and hit Hollow Bodies (Psycho Driver). McDermott would try to enter the ring only to catch a super kick, dropping him. Thomas would then hit The Great Desolation (450 Splash) on Reynolds for the pin and the first blood drawn in the best of 5 series.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, THE ARMADA!!
Post Match: The Armada would celebrate on the outside with the crowd as The Push lay motionless in the ring.
We open back in the catering area, where cases of cupcakes are stacked up and both David Slayton and Bobo Sweetcakes have AXW logo bibs on, for reasons we don’t know as the referee, Zack Fields, explains the rules, as limited as they are.
Zack Fields: “Alright guys, the one who eats the most cupcakes in 10 minutes is the winner, and if you win, David, you get a shot at the Adrenaline Title. Good luck to you both!”
Bobo Sweetcakes: “I love ya, Dave, BUT YOU’RE GOIN’ DOWN!”
David Slayton: “Ugh, how did I get myself into this?”
A buzzer sounds as both men begin gobbling cupcakes. Bobo, the veteran of these kinds of things, starts off with an early lead as the crowd begins chanting “EAT, EAT, EAT” and there’s even a “Man Versus Food” chant going on for those fans of Adam Richman. Slayton is trying his best to keep up, but it seems no use, when suddenly…
Bobo Sweetcakes: “BUUUURRRRPPP! Ugh..I don’t feel so good.”
Bobo covers his mouth and runs off camera as the buzzer sounds and Zack Fields raises the hand of Slayton, who stands triumphant, and with a mouth full of red velvet cupcake.
Zack Fields: “Winner!”
David Slayton: “I am a cupcake eating machine..ugh..it’s going to take a machine to get me off the can..”
Slayton then darts off camera as the crowd laughs, Fields shrugging and grabbing a cupcake for himself as the scene fades to black.
AXW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Cross City Stallions (c) vs. Hand of Blood
There was certainly a lot of anticipation and animosity going into this match up and these teams would be nose to nose before the opening bell, the defiant champions versus the dark, brooding, mysterious challengers. Inferno and Marky Mustang would start the match for their respective teams, and it seemed, at least early on, that Mustang’s mat wrestling was enough to keep Inferno at bay, Mustang showcasing his skills with side headlock takedowns, snap suplexes, and a nice standing dropkick, before tagging in the big man, Max Maximus. A mule kick from Inferno would be just enough to keep the fresh man away long enough for Inferno to make the tag to his own team’s big guy, Jason. The two colossal titans of their respective teams would size each other up before trading bombs to the roar of the crowd. Neither man seemed to be giving an inch, until a couple of knee shots from Jason buckled Maximus just enough for Jason to hit a brutal running powerslam for a two count. Jason wouldn’t let up, hitting a snap powerslam and a Samoan Drop, neither putting Maximus away. Max would be whipped hard into the corner and then clobbered with a clothesline from hell out of the corner, before Jason made the tag back to Inferno. Climbing up top, Inferno would hit a nice missile dropkick, but Maximus would stay in the match. Inferno would hit the top rope again, trying for a legdrop, but no one was home, as Maximus would tag Mustang back in. Mark was flying on all cylinders, leveling Inferno with a trio of German suplexes before hitting an elbow off the second rope. Jason would try to enter the ring but Mustang hit him with a dropkick knocking him to the outside. Mustang would fire up the crowd before tagging Maximus back in. As the duo would look to hit the Trojan Horse, as Maximus went to lift Inferno for a powerbomb, he was clobbered in the back by a steel chair shot from Jason, the referee calling for the bell!
Salvatore Pellegrino: Your winners, by disqualification, Cross City Stallions!!
Post Match: Mustang was also leveled with a steel chair shot as the crowd would boo Hand Of Blood as they held the AXW Tag Titles over their fallen foes, before dropping them onto the mat and holding onto the dented chair as they made their way to the back.
MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
Sean Foster & Caitlin Shay vs. Slamsley McBody & Hailey Harris
After the heated exchange earlier in the evening, these two teams were eager to get started. The ladies would begin the match, Caitlin talking smack to Hailey before cracking her across the face with a hard slap. Shay would laugh to the crowd, even feigning a frown before being tackled to the mat by Harris and tagged with some hard rights. Shay would get to her feet, only to be dropped by three arm drags and a dropkick that would take her out of the ring. Foster would go to comfort his tag partner who would head back into the ring and get caught in a headscissors take down. Shay was reeling as Harris would try for her Mic Check finisher only for it to be countered, Shay then dropping Harris with a brutal implant DDT. Shay would tag in Foster, who would look like he was ready to pounce on the fallen Harris, when Hailey herself would drop toe hold Foster right onto his face! Harris would then tag in Slamsley who would charge in with some rough lariats taking Foster down, catching Foster in a snap slam off an irish whip for a two count. Slams was seemingly enjoying the punishment he was giving Foster, press slamming his foe before dropping him down onto the mat. Foster would turn to Shay who distracted the ref so when Slams went to pick up Foster he was low blowed. Foster would then open up the offense on Slams after Shay did her part, hitting some stiff European uppercuts that rocked Slamsley, followed by a snapmare dropkick combo. Slams would go to rise and Foster would nail him with a shining wizard for a long two count. Foster would hit a piledriver onto Slams, but that wasn’t enough to put McBody away. Foster would grab onto Slams, darting across the ring and hitting a big bulldog before yelling out “Who’s The Man!” Foster would blow a kiss to Harris before looking to finish off Slams with Loss Of Pride, but Slams would counter, lifting Foster up and hitting a desperation spinebuster. Both men were down as they would reach their corners, tagging in their respective partners. Shay just didn’t have the speed to keep up with the feisty Harris, who after hitting the Check This Out (Mic Check) would head up top and go for Hailey’s Comet (450 Splash) but was knocked from the top by Foster who pretended he had nothing to do with it before being knocked off the apron by Slams. The two men would battle into the crowd, as Harris clutched at her back. Shay was quick to capitalize, hitting Broken Ending (Wheelbarrow Driver) on Harris for the pin and the victory.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, SEAN FOSTER AND CAITLIN SHAY!!
Post Match: Foster would dart back over the barricade with Slams in hot pursuit, taking Caitlin by the arm as Slams would stop and head back to the ring to check on his fallen partner, Foster and Shay sharing a laugh at the expense of their opponents.
MAIN EVENT
SINGLES MATCH
Jamie Fuller vs. Crest Silver
Jamie Fuller makes his entrance first, by himself. Crest Silver comes out next, with of course Crash Jackson in toe. The match begins with Silver immediately attacking Fuller, giving him no time to prepare himself. Silver utilizes the ropes, and attacks Fuller in the corner on numerous occasions, each time breaking the count at 4.9. Everytime Fuller tries to get any offense in, he's shut down. After many minutes of Silver toying with Fuller, Silver signals for Jackson to enter the ring. Official Gus Ramos tries to hold back Jackson and get him to leave the ring, only for Jackson to deck Ramos with Smashed Mouth. Silver and Jackson are waiting for Fuller to get up, when the crowd erupts in cheers as Justin Wyndham sprints down the ramp. Wyndham goes right for Silver, they throw a few punches before Silver irish whips Wyndham, who is caught by Jackson and planted with an Obliterator. Fuller who is beginning to get up is then taken out by a Totally Awesome Powerbomb. Jackson begins to stomp away on Wyndham while Silver starts punching Fuller. This goes on for a while, while the crowd chants for Magnum Wolf. Eventually, The Church remove Wyndham and Fuller from the ring. Once again, The Church stands tall at the end of show, this time with Magnum Wolf not involving himself.
