New Orleans, Louisiana
Episode XXXIV
Pyro blasts from the stage and jumbotron before cameras pan across the crowd.
Mike Vincent: Ladies and gentlemen, this is AXW! I'm Mike Vincent alongside Cole Haywood, and we're fresh off of Collide!
Cole Haywood: I may not have been happy with some of the outcomes, but regardless, it was a tremendous event and just when you think you know the landscape of AXW, it changes.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome GABE SHELLEY!
We get the opening chords to “The Right Direction” by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and the fans came to their feet for Gabe Shelley. He walked out onto the stage through the fountain of pyro and the hood up on his jacket. He looked around and walked from one side of the stage to the other, pointing out to the crowd. Gabe made his way down the ramp and shared in a few handshakes with fans before rolling into the ring. He jumped onto one of the middle rungs of the turnbuckle nearest the camera and flipped his hood back. Gabe once again pointed out to the crowd as he jumped down and was handed a microphone. A “Shel-ley, Shel-ley” chant broke out as Gabe looked around with a smile on his face. He gave a slight bow and brought the microphone up to speak.
Gabe Shelley: Thank you, New Orleans.
There’s a pop from the crowd as he looks around and continues.
Gabe Shelley: Most of you know who I am [cheers] but for those that may not or those in the back that may not, my name is Gabe Shelley. I’ve been a lot of things in my career: eWo World Champion, BWF World Champion, Hall of Famer, owner, commissioner. I’ve been around the world and have done what I love for over a decade. What I am now is AXW Superstar.
There’s a roar from the AXW fans in attendance.
Gabe Shelley: There might be some questions as to my debut and me signing with AXW so I thought we’d take a moment or two to smash any rumors or misconceptions. Me signing a deal with AXW has nothing to do with my friendship with Dave Slayton and some secret deal he and Luke Mathews have. Dave had NO idea I was signing with AXW until I walked out onto the stage at Collide. It also had nothing to do with my relationship to Starla as I didn’t tell her until two days before Collide. I didn’t sign the deal with the promise of a AXW Championship match. I didn’t find out that I would be competing in the Chamber until the night before. Mathews kept that close to his chest and didn’t even tell me until the night before as a way to make sure no one found out. I honestly thought I’d come out here at Collide, we’d chat, and that would be the end of my night.
Gabe walks around the ring a bit and looks at the announce table.
Gabe Shelley: I’m here to compete and that’s why I was signed. I was signed, NOT because of my relationship or any conspiracy, because of the talent I bring to the table. I am a five time World Champion and I hope to one day make it six.
He turns away from the table and looks around the arena briefly.
Gabe Shelley: I come to AXW with the goal of wanting to help it continue to grow. It already has it’s own history and legend and I’m here to make it bigger and better. I’m here to compete at the highest of levels. I am here to become the AXW Champion.
Gabe gets a nice cheer from the fans as he smiles and leans against the ropes.
Gabe Shelley: I don’t plan on having things handed to me because of some status I have over in BWF. I know what I’m capable of and it’s something I’ve proven time and time again and doing it here won’t be any different.
He takes a few moments to pause as his tone becomes a bit more serious.
Gabe Shelley: Last April I thought my career was done. I was told there was a likelihood that I couldn’t compete at a high level again and I spent months rehabbing, tried out a couple of matches, and it wasn’t until a month or so ago that I knew I could do this again. It was then that I decided I wanted to be here. I wanted a new challenge for myself.
Gabe has turned and is looking into the camera.
Gabe Shelley: AXW is about to undergo a revolution because this revolution has been reborn. Luke Mathews, everyone in the back, all of you sitting here, and all of the fans at home are about to experience it. I’m going to take AXW by storm.
He drops his microphone as his music kicks back up. He reaches down into his boot and pulls out a black sharpie and walks over to the turnbuckle and motions for the cameraman to come closer. Gabe holds the camera still as he signs the lens and tosses the sharpie before heading to the back.

Salvatore Pellegrino: Ladies and gentlemen this opening tag team contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the AXW Tag Team Championships!
"The Takeover" takes over the sound system and out walks Leland Alexander and Malcolm M. Mitchell, clad in neoprene masks over their mouths that read "TAKEOVER". They stop right before the ramp and Leland drops into a squat, pointing both hands towards the ring in the shape of guns. Malcolm stands behind him, runs his hands through his hair, before stretching out his arms, flicking the water off his fingers. At the same time, Leland pulls the triggers and the two make their way down the ramp, high fiving fans on each side of the ramp. Malcolm slides into the ring while Leland somersaults through the bottom and middle ropes. Leland steps onto a turnbuckle, pointing at his hand, in the gesture for Detroit and then pounding his fist against his chest while pointing at the camera, while Malcolm stands on the turnbuckle next to Leland's, with his arms spread. They come down from their turnbuckles and remove their neoprene masks as their music fades out.
‘War Machine’ begins to play, as the crowd rises to their feet. The song plays out with the white spots lights zooming around the arena until the 33 second mark when the drums kick in and Austin Graves steps out from the back, checking the black hockey tape on his wrists. Graves pays no attention to the crowd whether they boo or cheer him, and he’s focused like a laser beam on the task at hand. Rolling into the ring under the bottom rope, he rolls to his feet and walks over to the hard (tv) camera side of the ropes, placing both hands on the top ropes, pressing down on them slightly, staring coldly into the camera at first, then giving way to a cold, almost sick half smile as if to say, “I’m going to enjoy this…”
As Footsteps by Pop Evil begins to blare through the speakers of the arena, Ryan comes out from behind the curtain. He stands and looks out into the crowd. He then runs down the ramp, hitting hands with the fans and slides into the ring. Then he goes up onto the ropes and bounces on them, trying to get the fans all hyped up for the match. He then jumps in the ring a little to get warped up to face his opponent.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Introducing first, the challengers, at a combined weight of 419 pounds, "The Next Generation" Leland Alexander and Malcolm M. Mitchell, THE TAKEOVER!
Leland and Malcolm look intent on winning their titles back.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And their opponents, at a combined weight of 440 pounds, they are the defending AXW Tag Team Champions, "War Machine" Austin Graves and "The World Class Workhorse" Ryan Starr, WAR HORSE!
vs.
Austin immediately tackles Malcolm to the mat and throws some mounted punches. Austin even knocks Leland off the apron, and is then rocked by an Enzuigiri from Malcolm. Malcolm then delivers a Jumping Shoulder Jawbreaker, followed by a Double Knee Drop to the chest of Austin. Upon Austin getting back to his feet, Malcolm looks for a springboard moonsault but Austin catches him and plants him with a powerslam. Austin delivers a Grave Robber (Scoop lift spun out into an over the shoulder back to belly piledriver). After a two count, Austin brings Malcolm back to his feet and whips him into the WH corner. Austin runs in at Malcolm and runs into his boot. Malcolm back elbows Ryan and tries to clothesline Austin, Austin ducks and sends Malcolm into the turnbuckles with a German Suplex. Austin sets Malcolm up on the top rope and tags in Ryan. Ryan delivers a Sunset flip powerbomb, and upon pinning Malcolm, Leland comes in to break it up. Ryan lifts Malcolm back to his feet, where Malcolm rolls Ryan up with a surprise small package that gets a close two count. The two get up and Ryan tries for a clothesline, Malcolm catches the arm and delivers a Hammerlock DDT. Malcolm tags out to Leland who comes into the ring via springboard headscissor whip, causing Ryan to lean against the middle rope. Leland runs the ropes before delivering a 3-1-3 (Tiger Feint Kick/619), then follows up with the Flying Chuck (Springboard Roundhouse). Leland gets a two count as Austin is the one to break it up. Austin stays in and attacks Leland, until Malcolm clotheslines him over the top rope. Malcolm goes after Ryan who back body drops him out of the ring. Leland gets caught with a superkick, before Ryan hops up to the top rope and dives off for Burning Flames (Diving somersault neckbreaker), retaining the tag team titles.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, and STILL the AXW Tag Team Champions, WAR HORSE!
Mike Vincent: I think this win here fully solidifies that War Horse will not be losing these titles anytime soon.
Cole Haywood: War Horse will likely go down as one of the best AXW Tag Team Champions in history.
The Takeover recollect on the outside. Austin tries to exit the ring and go after them, but Ryan holds him back, telling him they've already won.

Acer Stone is standing backstage, with the AXW Light Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder. An angry Sam De Santa walks up to him.
Sam De Santa: You stuck your nose where it didn't belong, and quite frankly, you're lucky I'm not kicking your ass.
Acer Stone: Look, I realize that it wasn't necessarily fair that I took that opportunity from Trent, but if Danny loses this title, then I also lose this title, and I don't want to lose it that way.
Sam De Santa: Well then how about you defend the title against Trent, and you can lose it that way.
Acer Stone: If Trent wants a championship match, I have no problem giving him one. But I don't intend on losing this, however.
Sam De Santa: Well if you're not gonna lose it, then Danny is. We don't care which one of you it is, but one of you will be laid out via a Trentsetter and looking up at Trent Mathews as the new AXW Light Heavyweight Champion. We will see you next week.
Sam storms off as we fade to commercial.

"Snake Charmer" hits as a strobe light show begins. A little bit of smoke pours over the stage. A little after 30 seconds, when the snare roll comes in, is when Caitlin Shay emerges from the back. She stops on the stage, and looks around the crowd, sneering, unhappy about having to be in New Orleans.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, representing the Steve Corman Guys, from Pinecrest, Florida, CAITLIN SHAY!
She makes her way down to the ring, where she climbs onto the apron. She takes a moment to talk down to the crowd before entering the ring. She walks to the opposite ropes, with her arms spread, and a smile on her face as if to say, "I'm better than you." The music fades out as we await for the match to start.
"Invincible" by Amaranthe hits, the fast pounding drums blaring loudly from the speakers as the lights dim completely. They come back to Android standing at the entrance ramp, head down, the words 'The code awakens me' flash along the jumbotron behind her as she opens her eyes and brings her head up slowly. She walks stoically down the ramp, a smirk spreading over her face as she goes.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And her opponent, representing the Alliance of Truth, from Cork, Ireland, ANDROID 18!
She stops in the middle of the ramp, raising her hands to actually sign the words 'I am Invincible.' Before continuing on and leaping straight up onto the ring post, she signs ''I am Invincible' one more time, entering the ring and awaiting the match to start.
vs.
The two lock up, and despite a minimal size difference, Android shows she is stronger by slamming Caitlin hard to the mat. Caitlin fights right back with a side kick to the gut followed by a palm strike. Caitlin drops Android to the mat with a Single Underhook DDT. Caitlin hoists Android into the air before slamming her down with an Electric Chair Drop. Caitlin runs the ropes but is met with a Super Electric Strike (Striking spear) from Android. Android follows up with some Mounted punches. Android takes Caitlin down with some Leaping clotheslines. Android takes Caitlin down with a Lifting Double Underhook Facebuster, then runs towards the ropes where she executes a Graceful Orbit (Lionsalt). She gets a two count and throws another clothesline at Caitlin, Caitlin ducking and swiftly delivering a Shayplex (Half Dragon Half Tiger Suplex). Android helps herself up in the corner where Caitlin comes in with a Running Forearm Smash. Caitlin then throws Android out to the floor. Caitlin climbs to the top turnbuckle and dives out onto Android with a Crossbody. Caitlin and Android start brawling on the outside. Caitlin ends up being thrown into the ring steps. Android gives Caitlin a tour as Caitlin is thrown into the barricade, ring apron, announce table, and ring post.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Ladies and gentlemen, this match has been ruled a draw due to double count out!
Mike Vincent: Android 18 was so focused on attacking Caitlin Shay that she seems to have forgotten about the twenty count.
Cole Haywood: Quite frankly, I don't think she cares. She knew what she was doing.
Android tells the ringside fans to disperse, as she looks to suplex Caitlin over the barricade. Caitlin manages to fight it, and lifts Android up, and lets her fall awkwardly on the chairs. Caitlin is not interested in inflicting any more harm as she heads to the back. Android manages to climb back over the barricade on her own power as we head backstage.
-----
Renee Peltier: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm joined by Crash Jackson! Crash, you requested this time, so the floor is all yours.
Renee hands Crash the microphone and steps aside.
Crash Jackson: So Gabe Shelley is now in AXW. Now, I don't have anything against that. See, unlike some people, I couldn't care less where Gabe comes from, what he's accomplished, who his friends are, what I care about his him costing me my chance at leaving Collide with the AXW Championship. I shouldn't need to remind anyone that I never lost the AXW Championship, but I will anyway. I've had to scratch and claw just to get back in sight of the title, and Gabe Shelley waltzes in here and pushes me back away. That's not gonna fly. Congratulations, Gabe, on your upcoming retirement.
Crash hands the microphone back to Renee before storming off.

All the lights in the arena flick off except for a single gold light aimed on the entrance stage. 'Come To Life' by Alter Bridge starts blasting out of the speakers around the arena. Mercer Prime walks out from the back as the rest of the arena is lit up with gold light. Mercer stands on the stage and throws up both arms and lets out a roar before heading down to the ring.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next tag team contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, from Dayton, Ohio, weighing in at 225 pounds, MERCER PRIME!
"Rocketman" starts with all of the lights out with some smoke and one spotlight
"She packed my bags last night pre flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Then a hooded figure shows up and waits at the spotlight.
"And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Ben raises his arms simultaneously taking off his cape and walks to the ring.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his tag team partner, from Mason City, Iowa, weighing in at 223 pounds, "Rocket Man" BEN EATR!
"Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as Hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you didn't
And all this science, I don't understand
It's just my job, five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man"
On beat with the song Ben climbs the apron and jumps on the turnbuckle.
"And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Ben keeps his arms up then jumps into the ring.
"Now, I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time"
'Justice' by Rev Theory plays over the PA system as green and red flashing lights dance around the entrance area. Cormac Cobbs and BB Damage come running out from the back energetically and stops at the top of the ramp, posing, to allow those in attendance to take photographs of them both.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And their opponents, making their AXW Debut, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, at a combined weight of 413 pounds, the team of Cormac Cobbs and BB Damage, THE HITMEN!
They make their way down towards the ring stopping randomly and doing funny poses for the fans. After they have finished with playing up to the crowd they climb into the ring and dances around a little. Then they points out to all of the crowd, spinning around as they do it. Stop and, with their hands, pretends to be taking photos on an imaginary camera. The crowd starts going wild then they do one final pose for them.
vs.
Ben Eatr starts the match off with BB Damage. They start off with a chain wrestling series, that culminates with BB delivering a back suplex. BB whips Ben to the ropes where Ben springs off with a springboard clothesline. Ben lifts BB onto his shoulder before dropping him head first on the top turnbuckle with a Lawn Dart, then runs the ropes where he nails BB with a Rocket Shot (Running single leg dropkick). Ben tags in Mercer who catches an oncoming BB with a Powerslam. Mercer takes to the ropes where he slams BB down with a big STO. Mercer spikes BB with a Fisherman Driver, getting a close two count. Mercer lifts BB onto his shoulders for No Mercy (Fireman's Carry Cutter), but BB elbows Mercer in the head before countering with a DDT. The two get back up and BB ducks a clothesline from Mercer, and hits Mercer with an Enzuigiri. BB tags in Cormac Cobbs who enters the match taking Mercer down with a springboard dropkick. Mercer is propelled backwards and tags Ben back in who is picked up by Cormac, spun around twice, and dropped with a Spinebuster. Cormac grabs Ben's head, perhaps looking to set him up for the Twist of Fate, but Ben reverses with a Northern Lights Suplex. Upon the two getting up Ben takes Cormac right back down with a Sling blade. Ben heads out to the apron and awaits Cormac to get back to a vertical base, before taking him back down with a Springboard 450 Splash. Ben looks to end it as he sets up Space Out (Future shock DDT), but Cormac ends up rolling him up in a schoolboy, a hair away from getting three. Cormac then kicks Ben in the gut and poses for the crowd before dropping Ben with the Twist of Fate. Cormac tags in BB and drops down to all fours. BB jumps off the back of Cormac and delivers a leg lariat to Ben, the maneuver known as Bringing Down The Sky. BB covers while Cormac holds back Mercer.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, THE HITMEN!
Mike Vincent: What a tag team matchup. Really could have gone either way.
Cole Haywood: I'm not sure whose idea it was between Mercer and Ben to team up, but it just goes to show that a team with experience will always trump a team with no experience.
BB and Cormac celebrate their first win in AXW, posing for the crowd. They shake hands with Ben and Mercer after the good performance they all just put on.

Olya raises her championship high in the air after her win. She holds up two fingers to remind everyone she just needs two wins to retain the title. She exits the ring and walks around the arena with her opera binoculars, looking for precious artifacts for her exhibit.

Somewhere in the backstage area we see Gabe Shelley exploring and saying hello the some of the crew members. As he turns the corner he can see fellow AXW superstar David Slayton. The two give each other a headnod as Gabe approaches.
Gabe Shelley: Hey, man.
David Slayton: Well, well, well. Come to follow in my footsteps, huh?
Gabe Shelley: Allow yourself to think that.
The two chuckle as they brohug.
Gabe Shelley: Sorry for not telling you sooner that I was coming.
There’s a voice heard from behind them and we quickly see that it’s AXW Champion Starla Gardevoir.
Starla Gardevoir: He didn’t even tell me until a few days beforehand and I’m his wife!
Gabe and Starla share a quick kiss as he puts his arm around her.
David Slayton: It’s good to have you here, brother. I have to ask though… Did you do something different with your hair? You look different. Haircut maybe?
Gabe smirks and nods.
Gabe Shelley: Yeah. Haircut.
David Slayton: Maybe. Still feels like there’s something different.
Gabe Shelley: Gloves. I’m wearing gloves and I usually don’t.
He holds up his hands and shows off the gloves.
Starla Gardevoir: Except for that one time you wore nothing but gloves. Speaking of, did you ever find the riding crop we lost?
There’s some laughter from some of the more adult fans in attendance as Gabe clears his throat and blushes.
David Slayton: That’s my queue to leave.
Starla Gardevoir: Was it something I said?
Dave pats them both on the shoulder before leaving camera left and we fade away on Gabe shaking his head at a confused Starla.

Salvatore Pellegrino: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Main Event! It is scheduled for one fall, and is for the AXW Xperience Championship!
"The Instinct" hits and Ethan Cutler steps out from the back, gripping the elbow pad for his right arm in hand. He takes a good look at the crowd before raising his right arm high to show off his "Off With Their Head" tattoo on his outer forearm and high-arced pyro fountains ignite on either side of the ramp." He lowers his arm and slides the elbow pad on, then proceeds to walk drown the ramp under the archway of pyro. Upon reach the ring he jumps from the ring floor onto the apron, then steps through the ropes. After bouncing off the ropes a few times, he settles down and waits at once side for the match to begin.
As Daniel Licht’s “Hide Your Tears” opens with a sweet Spanish guitar lick, the lights dim into a golden hue, as elegant script spelling out “The Tragic Hero” flashes over the video wall. Fhenix emerges, his back to us, clad in a golden wrestling robe. He turns as the song gets a bit darker and heavier in tone, golden pyros raining down behind him as he poses, arms outstretched with a smirk. He walks to the ring with smooth confidence, entering the ring and scaling a turnbuckle, actually cupping an ear and egging on the crowd for more hatred before leaping off with a sinister smirk, which slowly turns into an eerily focused, stern glance, a mastermind considering strategy before his match begins, his music fading out.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Introducing first, the challenger, representing the Steve Corman Guys, from Rapid City, South Dakota, weighing in at 232 pounds, "Mr. Clothesline" ETHAN CUTLER!
Ethan swings his arm around, loosening it up for future use of the Verdict Lariat.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, representing the Alliance of Truth, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 240 pounds, he is the defending AXW Xperience Champion, "The Tragic Hero" JONATHAN FHENIX!
Jonathan hoists his championship into the air, with a grin on his face despite the negative crowd reaction.

Ethan takes Jack down with a series of clotheslines. Ethan lifts Jonathan up for a Bridging Northern Lights Suplex. After a two count the two get up and it's Jonathan who takes control by slamming Ethan down with a Reverse DDT. Jonathan delivers some grounded strike, knees, stomps, elbows. Jonathan hops up into the air and hits a beautiful standing dropkick to Ethan. Jonathan drops Ethan on his head with a Stalling brainbuster, then dives off the middle turnbuckle with a Second rope elbow drop. This sees a two count for Jonathan who now whips Ethan to the ropes, and on the rebound Ethan catches Jonathan with a Calf Kick. Ethan grabs the arms of Jonathan before delivering a Straightjacket Backbreaker. Ethan shows off his strength by lifting Jonathan up for a Deadlift Gutwrench Powerbomb. This sees a two count as Ethan takes to the ropes and nails Jonathan with a Bicycle Kick. Ethan lifts Jonathan up for a Jackhammer, getting just another two count. Ethan gets a little frustrated at referee Matt Baker, allowing Jonathan to roll Ethan up for a two count of his own. Ethan is quick to get up and tries running at Fhenix but is lifted up for Try To Breathe (High flap jack hot shot into the ropes, followed by a stiff running kick aimed right at the throat). Ethan is sitting up, clutching at his throat before Jonathan nails him in the head with a Snap side kick. This gets another two count as Jonathan brings Ethan to his feet. Ethan suddenly delivers Triple German Suplexes, and goes to the opposite side of the ring where he rips off his elbow pad and drops to a three point stance. Ethan charges in at Jonathan but Jonathan counters with a Release Northern Lights suplex into the turnbuckles. Jonathan pulls Ethan out to the center of the ring, where he locks him in Fhenix Tears (Haas Of Pain)! Ethan appears to be on the verge of tapping, when Jack Adams slides in and attacks Jonathan Fhenix.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner as a result of a disqualification, Jonathan Fhenix!
Mike Vincent: Jack Adams seems to still be upset that his former 2 Man Gang partner has gotten the best of him in the matches they've had.
Cole Haywood: Jonathan Fhenix will not hold onto that Xperience Title for long, not as long as the Steve Corman Guys are still around.
Jack viciously attacks Jonathan, and Ethan eventually joins in. Jack whips Jonathan into Ethan, where he flattens him with the Verdict Lariat. Jack picks Jonathan back up before dropping him on his head with the Gotch-Style Piledriver. The remainder of the Alliance of Truth come out, but it doesn't matter, Jack and Ethan did their damage as they hightail it out of the ring.
Mike Vincent: That's all we have for this week, tune into the Alternative next week where Gabe Shelley will be in action, and the AXW Light Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as Trent Mathews takes on Acer Stone!
