Vancouver, British Columbia
Episode XXXII
A display of pyrotechnics blast from the stage, before cameras pan across the crowd to show the various signs and fans in attendance.
Lily Luna: We are two weeks away from Horizon, this is The Alternative!
Chris Pierce: The last stop before Horizon is right here in Vancouver. We got a packed show for you tonight, so let's not waste any more time.
"Hear Me Now" plays throughout the arena and Malcolm M. Mitchell makes his way to the stage. He takes a moment to taunt, throwing shadow punches, then runs his hands through his hair and flicks the water off his hands, keeping his arms spread with his head up, soaking in the reaction from the crowd.
Jen Brunelli: This opening contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, representing The Takeover, from Riviera Beach, Florida, weighing in at 214 pounds, MALCOLM M. MITCHELL!
He walks down to the ring with confidence in every step. Malcolm enters the ring, climbs to the second turnbuckle, and does the same taunt he did on the stage.
As Footsteps by Pop Evil begins to blare through the speakers of the arena, Ryan comes out from behind the curtain. He stands and looks out into the crowd.
Jen Brunelli: And his opponent, representing War Horse, from Tampa, Florida, weighing in at 195 pounds, he is one half of the AXW Tag Team Champions, RYAN STARR!
He then runs down the ramp, hitting hands with the fans and slides into the ring. Then he goes up onto the ropes and bounces on them, trying to get the fans all hyped up for the match. He then jumps in the ring a little to get warped up to face his opponent.
vs.
Malcolm looks for a test of strength. Ryan appears to be accepting it but instead kicks Malcolm in the gut. Ryan nails Malcolm wit an Enzuigiri, then runs the ropes and hits Malcolm with a Front drop kick to the side of his head. Ryan follows up with a Swinging neckbreaker. Ryan looks for another kick but Malcolm catches the leg, and slams Ryan to the mat with a T-Bone Suplex. Ryan gets back up and gets taken back down with a Jumping Calf Kick. Malcolm takes Ryan back down with an Armdrag then locks in an Armbar, which Ryan manages to fight out of. Malcolm hits Ryan with a forearm, with Ryan staggering back towards the ropes. Malcolm runs at him, but Ryan kicks him and uses the momentum to backflip over the top rope and land on the apron. Ryan springboards off the top rope and nails Malcolm with a Flying forearm smash. Ryan whips Malcolm to the ropes, where Malcolm springboards off the second rope and delivers a moonsault to the standing Ryan. The two get up with Ryan looking for a clothesline that Malcolm ducks, Malcolm following up with a Blue Thunder Bomb that gets him a two count. Malcolm sees Ryan getting to his feet, and takes to the ropes where he looks to deliver a Faceplant (Fame Asser), but Ryan steps back and immediately grabs the legs of Malcolm, trying for A Starr To Remember (Sharpshooter), but Malcolm shoves him away. Malcolm runs to Ryan, Ryan again has a counter as he simply side steps, Malcolm colliding with the turnbuckles. As Malcolm stumbles backwards, Ryan takes him down with a Double knee backbreaker. Ryan ascends to the top turnbuckles, and dives off looking for Burning Flames (Diving somersault neckbreaker), but Malcolm rolls out of the way, allowing Ryan to just somersault to the mat. as Ryan gets back up he is dropped by a Sleep Tight (Busaiku Knee Kick). Malcolm doesn't even bother hooking a leg as he covers, he knows Ryan is out.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, MALCOLM M. MITCHELL!
Lily Luna: Malcolm Mitchell brings some momentum to the side of The Takeover as they look to regain the AXW Tag Team Championships at Horizon.
Chris Pierce: That's all well and good for Malcolm, however there's a big difference when Ryan's partner is involved. Can Malcolm do it again with Leland by his side while Ryan has Austin?
"Hear Me Now" replays throughout the arena. Referee Brian Sullivan raises the arm of Malcolm. Brian receives Ryan's AXW Tag Team Championship and is ready to hand it off to Ryan when he gets back to his feet, but Malcolm strips it away from Brian. Malcolm takes a look at the new design of the title, then drapes it on the knocked out Ryan Starr. Malcolm moves his finger back and forth, saying "Tick, tock..", signalling War Horse will not hold the titles for much longer.

We're backstage with Renee Peltier.
Renee Peltier: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm being joined by David Clash.
David Clash steps into frame.
Renee Peltier: David, you're the latest victim of an attack by the Steve Corman Guys. Do you have any thoughts you'd like to share regarding that matter?
David Clash: Well, Steve obviously seems to have a problem with me. All I did was try to become to become the Number One Contender for the AXW Championship. We were all fighting for the same thing, and if he were in my position, he would have done the exact same thing. I had no problem with him prior to all this, but now I do. So, Steve, I talked to Luke Mathews before this interview, and we will be meeting again at Horizon. How about this time when you lose, you take it like a man and leave your cronies in the back.
Renee Peltier: Another match made for Horizon, we'll be seeing David Clash and Steve Corman going toe to toe once more. Let's head back to ringside.
-----
“Like A Prayer” by Madonna plays through the speakers providing a peppy ambiance. The entire arena goes dark momentarily as “Sister Inferior” Olya Latanya Oglovska enters from the ramp with a pair of opera binoculars in her right hand. Three spotlights highlight various audience members who have striking physical attributes. As Olya walks down to the ramp she fans herself with a bidder paddle.
Jen Brunelli: This next tag team contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, from Saratov, Russia, she is the AXW Women's Champion, "Sister Inferior" OLYA OGLOVSKA!
Upon reaching the arena floor and within clear eye line of her opponent, all three spotlights converge. Oglovska raises her bidder paddle to indicate she plans on procuring another priceless artifact for her exhibit.
“S-P-I-R-I-T
Spirit!! Let’s hear it!!
S-P-I-R-I-T
Spirit!! Let’s hear it!!”
Blue strobe lights roams around the arena like a trance as the opening tune of "Happy Song” by Bring Me The Horizon blares out of the PA system.
“LET’S GO!”
Out comes Janet Hurricane, her hoodie veil blinding her face. As the tempo gets faster and faster, we see her jumping up and down, still cannot see her face. Once we hear the lyrics, Janet reveals her face to the crowd and starts shadowing punching and kicking, feeling the energy of her theme song.
Jen Brunelli: And her partner, from Charlotte, North Carolina, she is "The Queen of the Ravenous Generation" JANET HURRICANE!
She then starts walking her way to the ring, bopping her head to the music and in her own zone, not giving a damn about the fans’ reaction. Once she enters the ring, she takes off her hoodie and does a couple of shadow boxing, again feeling the energy of the music before it fades.
The tunes of "Unbreakable" by Fireflight pulse over the PA system as pink and purple strobelights flash and pulse. Hailey emerges, bouncing up and down, firing the crowd up before sprinting down the ramp, slapping hands with fans, both of her arms extended.
Jen Brunelli: And their opponents, first, from Baltimore, Maryland, "The Longshot" HAILEY HARRIS!
She slides into the ring and scales a turnbuckle, one hand on her hip, the other raised high in the air. She jumps off the turnbuckle with a smile, prepared for her match.
"Nothing Left to Lose" hits as Zoey Mathews-Mitchell emerges from behind the curtain. She stands on the stage, back facing the ring, her arms outspread with hands open, wielding a kendo stick in her right hand. She's dressed in her usual street attire, tight jeans with her boots and knee pads over them, and a cut-off Takeover t-shirt. She turns around, now facing the ring, and raises the kendo stick in the air, as pyro blasts on the stage. She lowers her arm and begins walking down the ramp.
Jen Brunelli: And her partner, representing The Takeover, from Riviera Beach, Florida, ZOEY MATHEWS-MITCHELL!
She high fives some of the fans at ringside, before climbing onto the apron. She scans the crowd, and raises the kendo stick in the air once more. She enters the ring and places the kendo stick under her team's corner, as she and Hailey prepare to do battle.
vs.
The match begins with Olya and Zoey in the ring. Zoey immediately darts by Olya and tries to hit Janet off the apron, but Janet hops down and out of dodge. Olya delivers a hard forearm to the back of Zoey’s head while she’s distracted and takes early control of the match. She turns Zoey around in the corner and delivers a few knife-edge chops before bringing Zoey to the middle of the ring and executing a Sombo Suplex! Olya pins Zoey but only for a count of one. Olya throws Zoey across the ring with a hair biel. When Zoey gets back to her feet, Olya tries for a clothesline, but Zoey ducks it! She instead is able to knock Olya down with a roundhouse kick. Zoey tags in Hailey, who immediately goes on the offensive. She whips Olya into the corner, follows her, and delivers a forearm to Olya’s face. Next, Harris delivers a snap DDT and pins Olya, but Olya easily kicks out. Harris delivers a few stomps to Olya’s back and then gets her to her feet. She whips her into the ropes and on the rebound delivers a spinning heel kick! Another pin, but only a two. Harris points to the corner, signaling that she’s going to the top rope. She gets there and Janet tries to leg pick her, but is able to keep her balance and wrenches her leg free of Janet’s grasp! She kicks Janet off the apron, but by now Olya had recovered and delivers a dropkick to her knee, causing her to lose balance and tumble from the top rope to the mat. Olya delivers a couple of slap’s to Harris’s face. She puts Hailey in a front facelock and drags her to the corner, where Janet is ready and gets the tag.
Janet comes in and delivers a kick to Hailey’s ribs. Another, and a third. Snap suplex. Following the suplex is a pin, but it only gathers a two count. Zoey is pacing the apron and yelling at Janet, all the while encouraging Hailey. Janet ignores her and continues the assault, delivering some elbows. She locks in a sleeperhold and wears Harris down before tagging Olya back in. Olya takes Hailey by the head and delivers a Fisherwoman’s Suplex with the pin for a two count! She lifts Harris to her feet and then onto her shoulders and hits Harris with a rolling fireman’s carry slam! Dragging Harris back to the corner, Olya tags in Janet and they double suplex her. Janet gets to her feet and taunts Zoey, who tries to enter, but the ref holds her back! Janet pulls Hailey up by the hair, laughing, and whips her into the ropes. An attempted clothesline is ducked under. Hailey puts on the brakes, and when Janet spins around, she hits her with an enziguri! Both women are down as the ref begins his count.
The girls crawl to their respective corners. Janet makes the tag to Olya and right after, Hailey leaps for Zoey, making the tag! Zoey knocks Olya down with a forearm, she gets right back up and gets sent back down a second and a third time with the forearms. Slower to her feet this time, Zoey drives a knee into Olya’s gut before planting her with a lifting DDT! Zoey gets back to her feet and yells to the crowd, who love it! She turns and Janet tries to hit her with a running knee lift, but Zoey spins out of the way and counters with a shotgun kick! Janet hits the mat and immediately rolls out of the ring holding her face. Zoey turns back to Olya and pulls her to her feet. She backs Olya into the corner and lifts her to the top rope. She climbs up herself, but Olya starts to fight back! An elbow to the midsection, a chop, and Olya then shoves Zoey off the top rope! Zoey is able to land on her feet, but stumbles, turning her back to Olya long enough for Olya to get to her feet and deliver a flying clothesline. Both women are down in the center of the ring at this point. Janet is still down on the floor outside the ring, but Hailey is rearing to get in and is hopping up and down wanting Zoey to make the tag. Olya crawls to her corner, to find no partner, while Zoey gets to hers and tags in Harris!
Hailey meets Olya in the center of the ring with a swift kick to the gut, knocking Olya down to a single knee. Harris grabs Olya with a headlock and pulls her to the corner, where she then runs up the turnbuckles and delivers a big tornado DDT! She gets back to her feet immediately and goes back for more, this time looking to put Olya away! Harris goes for The Long Shot (Twist of Fate) and hits it in the center of the ring! The pinfall comes in, but Janet breaks the count just before the 3! Harris, after the hold is broken, gets back to her feet, but doesn’t know where Janet is and Janet’s able to hit her with the Wrath of the Hurricane (Maryse’s heel kick)! Zoey comes screaming into the picture and ducks underneath Janet’s attempted clothesline, instead hitting Janet with the Z4 (C4)! Janet is sent out of the ring after the impact and Zoey follows, taking all of her frustrations out on her!
In the ring, both girls are down, but start to stir. They’re both getting to their feet. Olya reaches her feet a second before Harris, but clearly looks worse for the wear. Harris tries to go for the Baltimore Bombshell (double underhook DDT), but Olya ducks and spins out of it and instead hits Hailey with the Gnostic Orthodox (Crucifix Pin)! The ref counts: 1, 2, 3! Zoey, who was still focused on Janet, looks up to see that Olya was the victor.
Jen Brunelli: Here are your winners, JANET HURRICANE and OLYA OGLOVSKA!
Lily Luna: Zoey was so focused on Janet that she could not get back in the ring and get the save.
Chris Pierce: To be fair, I don't think Zoey really cares that much.
Olya receives her championship and exits the ring, celebrating as she goes up the ramp. Zoey continues to seek out revenge on Janet by grabbing her kendo stick, but Janet fights back by kicking Zoey in the gut, then throwing her into the ring steps. Janet heads up the ramp as we head to commercial.

We’re backstage with Gina Furlow and she’s ready for the camera. She smiles as she holds the microphone up and introduces her guest.
Gina Furlow: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time please welcome Gabe Shelley.
The fans in attendance roar in cheers as Shelley walks into view and stands beside Furlow. He’s wearing his brand new shirt, available everywhere AXW shirts are sold.
Gina Furlow: Gabe, we’re two weeks away from Horizon and you’ve accepted the match-up with Crash Jackson. Crash has vowed to quit AXW if he can’t defeat you. Your thoughts?
Gabe Shelley: Well, Gina, I feel sorry for Crash. I’m sure some second rate company might offer him a deal but it’s not going to be as great as AXW is. I suppose he can sit around and try to collect unemployment. Bottom line is there’s no way I’m walking out of Horizon without winning that match. I’ve come to AXW to climb my way to the top, to show that after almost twelve years in this business I’ve still got it.
Shelley shifts and runs his fingers through his hair and pulls it back out of his face.
Gabe Shelley: In this business it’s rare to see anyone last more than a decade. You have to be a special talent to be able to do this on a consistent basis for that long. I left BWF in a way I didn’t like. I felt vulnerable for the first time in a long time. I felt defeated. That’s not going to happen again, Gina. I will find my way to the top of this company, that I have no doubt. It doesn’t matter if it’s Starla, Dave, or anyone else holding the championship. I will eventually get there and I will eventually become the AXW World Champion. That road goes through Crash.
Gina Furlow: Your game plan for Horizon?
Gabe Shelley: Do what I do best. Be the better wrestler and win. Crash is just another victim of the reVolution.
With that, Gabe walks off with a smile.

Jen Brunelli: This next contest is set for one fall, and is for the AXW Xperience Championship!
The opening beat of "ultranumb" by Blue Stahli as the crowd goes in a frenzy, hyped to see the arrival of "The World Warrior" The cameras focused on the countdown clock shown in the titantron while we hear a voice say, "Ultranumb"
"THREE. THREe, THRee, THree,Three
"TWO, TWO., two two
ONE"
"YOU WANT IT ALL RIGHT NOW"
The lights starts to flicker before coming back to normal as Justin Wyndham comes out with a smile on his face. He bends down on both knees and looks at his imaginary "watch" before getting up and does a cut throat sign. He then gets up before running down to the ring in full speed. Once he enters the ring, he bangs his head to the nearest turnbuckle, hyping himself up before looking back at the crowd with a sick smile. He then climbs at the turnbuckle and does the cuthroat sign before getting off and waiting for his match to start
"Too Drunk to Fuck" by the Dead Kennedys kicks in as a smirking Jack Adams comes jogging out from the back. He looks at the crowd, laughing to himself as he walks to the ring, all the while Adams is goading the fans and prevoking them, daring them to punch him, before feigning punching them himself. Generally, just being a bully. Adams slides into the ring and being the dick he is, just yells to the hard camera "LAST REAL MAN ALIVE!"
Jen Brunelli: Introducing first, from Cloverleaf, Texas, weighing in at 210 pounds, "The World Warrior" JUSTIN WYNDHAM!
Justin does a cutthroat sign once more.
Jen Brunelli: And his opponent, from Fort Payne, Alabama, weighing in at 230 pounds, he is the defending AXW Xperience Champion, "The Last Real Man Alive" JACK ADAMS!
Jack raises his championship into the air.
vs.
The two lock up, and Jack just slams Justin to the mat. Jack quickly looks to follow with an elbow drop but Justin gets out of the way. Justin leaps up into the air and hits jack with a dropkick. Justin follows up with a Palm thrust to the throat, then slams Jack down with a Tiger Suplex. Justin whips Jack to the corner and runs in after him, but Jack gets his boot up. Jack steps out of the corner and hits several Knife Edge Chops to the chest and throat of Justin. Jack lifts Justin up for a suplex, and holds him in the air, even going one handed at one point, before slamming him down with the Delayed Suplex. Jack runs the ropes and takes Justin down with an Alabama Hamma (Running Polish Hammer). Jack hits Justin with a Swinging Back Heel Kick, then lifts him up for a Running Corner Powerbomb. Justin falls to his knees, clutching his back, when he's then hit with the Meat Hook Lariat. Jack looks to set up the Gotch-Style Piledriver but Justin counters with a back body drop. Justin runs the ropes only for Jack to plant him with a Throwdown Spinebuster. Jack sets up a Guillotine Neckbreaker but Justin counters that with a backslide pin, getting a two count. The two get up with Justin taking Jack right back down with a Ranhei. Justin nails Jack with a Peace Out(Spinning Capoeira kick). Jack crumbles to the mat and Justin climbs the turnbuckles, executing a beautiful Olympic Splash (Double Moonsault). Justin hooks both legs but Jack still manages to kick out. Justin allows Jack to get up on his own power, then takes him back down with a Kenka Kick(Standing Big Boot to the head). Justin lifts Jack up for a Doomsday Driver(Davari’s WMD Driver), but Jack slips free and rolls Justin up. Another two count, the two get up and Jack throws a kick out of desperation, and Justin catches it, then takes Jack down to the mat, and locks in the Texas Cloverleaf. Dead center in the middle of the ring, and Jack taps out.
Lily Luna: Justin Wyndham just made Jack Adams tap out!
Chris Pierce: But the referee didn't see it! He's dealing with Ethan Cutler on the apron. Justin can't see Ethan but Jack can, which may be the only reason Jack tapped.
Justin breaks the hold thinking he just won, until he sees referee Shane Gates trying to get Ethan off the apron. Justin decides to take matters into his own hands as he approaches Ethan, and this is when Ethan hops down. Jack now rolls Justin up, with his feet on the ropes, but Shane doesn't see that as he makes the three count.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, and STILL the AXW Xperience Champion, JACK ADAMS!
Lily Luna: Jack Adams steals a win tonight to hold onto his title.
Chris Pierce: Jack Adams is a crafty man, he can find ways to win you probably wouldn't even think of.
Jack's music doesn't play as he and Ethan start to beat down Justin. This doesn't last long as TO'A is making a b-line down the ramp. Jack and Ethan decided to back off, with Ethan saying "Not yet, big boy, I'll deal with you in a second."

We cut backstage where the Cross City Stallions are.
Marky Mustang: Look, if we just keep sitting back like this, he'll just keep torturing us.
Max Maximus: ...
Marky Mustang: I know you're scared shitless. But we need to do something. I can't do this by myself, I need you to try to conquer this fear.
Max Maximus: He tried... burying...
Max starts to shake as he remembers the most traumatizing moment in his life.
Marky Mustang: As I said, I know you're scared, but you gotta try to put the... burial incident in the back of your head.
Max grips at his hair, it's visible he's sweating.
Max Maximus: I... don't know if I can, Marky.
Marky Mustang: If you don't try, he'll just keep coming at us. We need to think of something.
Marky leads his brother off screen, the camera starts to zoom in to see Mayhem watching on in the distance.

We return from commercials where TO'A and Ethan Cutler are already in the ring from the previous match. Justin Wyndham and Jack Adams have since gone to the back.
Jen Brunelli: This next contest is set for one fall! Already in the ring, first, to my left, representing the Steve Corman Guys, from Rapid City, South Dakota, weighing in at 232 pounds, "Mr. Clothesline" ETHAN CUTLER!
Ethan holds up his lariat arm.
Jen Brunelli: And his opponent, to my right, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing in at 280 pounds, "Samoan Executioner" TO'A!
TO'A looks on with a cold stare as Jen exits the ring and we get the match underway.
vs.
The match starts off quickly as the two men begin brawling. An exchange of lefts and rights goes on for a few seconds before TO'A finally dodges one of Cutler's punches and delivers a swift kick to the gut. TO'A lifts Cutler up onto his shoulders but Cutler is quick to get out of it and follows that up by taking TO'A down with a bicycle kick! TO'A is up to his feet though and Cutler tries for an STO but TO'A elbows him in the side of the head and irish whips him off the ropes and right into a Samoan Drop! TO'A goes for the pin but Cutler kicks out right away. TO'A pulls Cutler back up to his feet and tries to sneak in a quick FOR SAMOA! (Samoan Spike) but Cutler ducks out of the way and takes TO'A down to the mat with leg sweep. Cutler then jumps on top of TO'A and begins pounding away with some heavy right hands but TO'A is not phased as he counter attacks with a few headbutts. Cutler, clearly dazed from the headbutts, stumbles back off of TO'A and into the middle of the ring. TO'A then runs at Cutler and absolutely nails him with Sweet Dreams (Running Arched Big boot)! The crowd cheers as TO'A has seemingly gained the upper hand in this match up. TO'A lifts Cutler up and into the corner and starts destroying his chest with some knife edge chops. TO'A then places Cutler on to the top rope and begins to ascend himself. TO'A looks as if he is about to go for a superplex but Cutler is doing all he can to hang on. Cutler knees TO'A in the nose and pushes him off the ropes but TO'A responds with a loud step up enziguiri! TO'A proceeds to tuck the head of Cutler and looks to be going for the Muscle Buster. He picks Cutler up and runs to the center of the ring and hits the move beautifully! He once again goes for the cover but Cutler kicks out at what was almost a three count. TO'A goes to grab the downed Cutler but Cutler is too fast and brings TO'A down with a drop toe hold. Cutler springs back up to his feet and drops an elbow right on TO'A's spine. TO'A holds his back in agony as Cutler drops a few more elbows. Cutler then lifts TO'A up and irish whips him off the ropes and looks as if he's going for the Crack Shot (Pounce) but TO'A catches him with a belly to belly suplex! The crowd cheers as TO'A pounds the mat with his fist trying, trying to hype himself up. TO'A looks angry as he rises to his feet with his focus on the downed Cutler. TO'A waits for Cutler to get back up to his feet and as soon as he does, TO'A runs at him and drives him into the turnbuckle. TO'A takes his shoulder and throws it into the sternum of Cutler over and over until Cutler falls into a seated position against the turnbuckles. TO'A then runs back to the opposite turnbuckle and charges at Cutler to hit him with a Samoan Wrecking Ball! (Running hip attack to the head of an opponent seated in the corner). TO'A pulls Cutler out of the corner, and suddenly, CRACK! TO'A is hit in the back by a chair from Jack Adams.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner as a result of a disqualification, TO'A!
Lily Luna: Things seem to be getting personal between these two teams.
Chris Pierce: TO'A and Justin have went back to their old ways of not using weapons, but of course, Jack Adams has no problem using them.
Jack continuously slams the chair down on the back of TO'A, the chair getting mangled in the process. Jack holds TO'A up, with Ethan removing his elbow pad in preparation of the Verdict Lariat, but Ethan is suddenly tackled to the mat by Justin Wyndham! TO'A then lifts Adams onto his shoulders for an Island Driver, but Jack slips free and shimmies out of the ring. Jack recollects with Ethan, the two backing up the ramp while Justin and TO'A stand tall in the ring.

We switch backstage to a dimly lit undisclosed section of the arena, this area belonging to Deimos.
Deimos: Where, oh where, is Bruiser Lazzou? Since I took him out at Collide, no one's heard from him. I'm the one true monster in AXW... so why... why would I seek out a puny little human like Damien Steele? I simply don't like Damien Steele. You see, he calls himself "The Vicious One"... which I don't take kindly, because I am the vicious one. Damien will soon join Bruiser in the realm of obscurity.

Jen Brunelli: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Main Event! It is a Tag Team contest set for one fall!
The lights in the arena go out, one by one, until the entire arena is blanketed in complete darkness. A few seconds pass of this, the crowd cheering loudly, eagerly awaiting whatever is going to come next. The JumboTron comes to life with a neon pink butterfly, slowly flapping its wings against darkness. With every flap of its wings, the arena lights pulse. The flapping gets faster and faster, until finally, the butterfly explodes into glitter. When it does, a stage-wide blast of pink and purple pyro explodes across the stage and as the screen fills with the words "Stutterfly" Starla Gardevoir, "Endless Possibility" by Jaret Reddick begins playing over the sound system!
This is my escape
I'm running through this world
And I'm not looking back
The crowd explodes in a flurry of cheers as Starla Gardevoir struts onto the stage and points to the crowd, grinning. She moves to each side of the stage, posing for the fans, then comes back to the center of the stage before dropping to one knee and posing as a shower of pink pyro begins falling behind her!
Jen Brunelli: Introducing first, from Panama City, Florida, she is the AXW Champion, "Stutterfly" STARLA GARDEVOIR!
'Cause I know I can go
Where no one's ever gone
And I'm not looking back
Starla stands up, still grinning from ear to ear, and then quickly bounds down the ramp, slapping fan's hands along the way. Towards the bottom of the ramp, she stops and turns back to the stage, then poses with her back to the ring. Starla turns back and laughs, then makes her way around ringside, high-fiving fans as she goes.
But how will I know when I get there?
And how will I know when to leave?
We've all got to start from somewhere
It's like that for me
The possibilities are never ending
After a quick trip around the ring, Starla runs towards the ring apron facing the stage and leaps up, turning in midair and sliding from one side of the apron to the other on one knee. Starla stands up and steps over the second rope, then leans in slowly, showcasing her butt for the cheering male fans before entering the ring completely.
I see it, I see it
And now it's all within my reach
Endless possibility
I see it, I see it now
It's always been inside of me
And now I feel so free
Endless possibility
Starla then heads up to the top of the nearest turnbuckle and poses once more. With the fans still cheering, Starla does a backflip off the top rope and lands on her feet, then walks over to the corner across the ring and leans against it, rolling her head back and forth as the music fades.
PUT ON YOUR WAR PAINT!
The lights in the arena all cut to black and the Tron comes to life, pulsating with a green light as a quiet beat gets louder with every flash. It gets faster and faster, and louder with each pulse, until the pulsating light explodes into the words "Blazenwing Rises" and “The Phoenix” by Fall Out Boy blares across the arena sound system.
You are a brick tied to me that's dragging me down
Strike a match and I'll burn you to the ground
We are the jack-o-lanterns in July
Setting fire to the sky
He-here comes this rising tide
So come on
PUT ON YOUR WAR PAINT!
The stage fills with smoke and the crowd rises to their feet, cheering loudly, as the smoke clears on the stage and a man in a dark green trenchcoat stands, head down, facing the Tron. He raises his hands and snaps his fingers, causing four loud bursts of pyro to ignite, two on each side of him, before spinning around Y2J style to reveal David Slayton!
Jen Brunelli: And her partner, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, weighing in at 245 pounds, here is "The New Hotness" DAVID SLAYTON!
Cross walks and crossed hearts and hope-to-dies
Silver clouds with grey linings
So we can take the world back from the heart-attacked
One maniac at a time we will take it back
You know time crawls on when you're waiting for the song to start
So dance alone to the beat of your heart
His sunglasses shining with the glare from the arena lights, David looks to the left, then to the right, nodding towards the crowd before walking down the ramp. After stopping to slap hands with a few fans, David moves towards the ring steps and hops up and down a few times in front of them before quickly racing up the steps to the apron side facing the stage. He stops and pulls his sunglasses off, then tosses them behind his head into the crowd before leaning down and stepping through the ropes to enter the ring.
Hey young blood
Doesn't it feel like our time is running out?
I'm gonna change you like a remix
Then I'll raise you like a phoenix
You're wearing our vintage misery
No, I think it looked a little better on me
I'm gonna change you like a remix
Then I'll raise you like a phoenix
David walks across the ring and leaps up onto the second rope in the corner nearest the timekeeper, then pulls off his green trenchcoat and tosses it towards the timekeeper. David smirks and points to the fans, then slaps his chest a few times and points up towards the sky, closing his eyes and saying a short prayer. David leaps down from the corner and immediately turns to sit down in the same corner, ala Raven. David then rests his head on the second turnbuckle pad as his theme fades and the crowd continues cheering.
"Snake Charmer" hits as a strobe light show begins. A little bit of smoke pours over the stage. A little after 30 seconds, when the snare roll comes in, is when Caitlin Shay emerges from the back. She stops on the stage, and looks around the crowd, sneering, unhappy about having to be in Vancouver.
Jen Brunelli: And their opponents, first, from Pinecrest, Florida, she is a Steve Corman Girl, CAITLIN SHAY!
She makes her way down to the ring, where she climbs onto the apron. She takes a moment to talk down to the crowd before entering the ring. She walks to the opposite ropes, with her arms spread, and a smile on her face as if to say, "I'm better than you." The music fades out as we await for the match to start.
begins to play. The crowd reacts with overall boos and jeers, but there is the small population of fans, for either nostalgia or just plain assholes, that cheer and do the hero worship wave, wearing Icon Merch.
Jen Brunelli: And her partner, from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, weighing in at 275 pounds, "The Icon" STEVE CORMAN!
Big Stevie Cool walks out dressed in his classic BSC ring attire, black shiny side lace up pants and a black wrestling tank with "BSC" on the front. As well as a black elbow pad on his right elbow with "ICON" written in gold across it. He stops to look around the arena and the boos being thrown in his direction. Corman makes it very clear to the fans that “all of this” is because of Him. He smiles his cocky smile, then double thumb points to himself, taps his right index finger on his temple and slowly pans his left hand, index finger extended, around the arena; indicating that he’s smarter than each and every one of them, then Corman slowly raises his arms over his head, making the trademark Highrollers hand gesture (basically the wolfpack, while moving his thumbs around in the international sign for MONEY). He makes his way to the ring, as the A-Hole High Rollers fans cheer and do the "Icon" worship wave as Corman nods, points, and smiles at the camera. He climbs the stairs, planting each foot, and walks across the apron. Corman enters the ring. Corman smirks and again repeats the High Rollers hand gesture by the ropes.

The ladies start the match. They lock up, and with only a one pound difference, neither really budge. Caitlin ends up getting Starla in a side headlock. Starla responds by lifting Caitlin up and connecting with a Reverse Atomic Drop. Caitlin clutches at her lower back before being slammed to the mat with a Dragon Suplex, kicking out of the bridged pin at two. Starla looks for a clothesline which Caitlin ducks, Caitlin now delivering a suplex of her own: the Shayplex (Half Dragon Half Tiger Suplex). Caitlin follows up with a Fisherman Suplex, then ascends to the top turnbuckle, and dives off with a crossbody, but is met by a dropkick from Starla in mid-air. Starla lifts Caitlin for a Lifting DDT. Starla looks to continue her attack but Caitlin squirms away and gets the tag to Steve Corman. Steve enters the ring and suggests that Starla should tag in David. Starla instead hits Steve with a forearm. Steve shoves Starla away, with David reaching down to tag himself in. Starla is unhappy as she wants to fight Steve but Senior Official Matt Baker talks her out to the apron. Steve and David look as if they're gonna trade fists but Steve ends up kneeing David in the gut. Steve grabs David's head and smashes it off his knee with a Coconut Smash. Steve follows up with a Double Handed Headbutt, then doubles David over and runs the ropes, connecting with a Float over DDT. Steve plants David with a Snapmare Driver. Caitlin wants back in, and Steve shrugs and tags her in. Caitlin enters the ring via Springboard Headscissors, the whip sending David head first into toe Corman Corner turnbuckles. Caitlin stomps away at David, then tags Steve back in. Steve delivers stomps to David, then tags back out. Caitlin tries to bring David out of the corner, but David hits her with a punch to the gut. David has Caitlin doubled over and is looking to set up a powerbomb, but Caitlin crawls between David's legs and as he turns around, gets nailed by a Pele Kick. David staggers back where Starla tags herself back in. Starla runs right at Caitlin and hits her with a Dropsault. Starla runs the ropes and takes Caitlin down with a Double Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors Takeover. Caitlin rolls out of the ring, where Steve meets up with her. The two decide the match is not worth their time as they make their way to the back.
Jen Brunelli: Here are your winners as a result of a count out, DAVID SLAYTON and STARLA GARDEVOIR!
Lily Luna: Steve Corman and Caitlin Shay walk out of the match, giving them a loss as they head into Horizon.
Chris Pierce: They're not worried about it, Steve has to focus on David Clash while Caitlin has to focus on Android 18. This match simply was not worth their time in their opinion.
Starla receives her AXW Championship while Matt Baker raises both their hands. David ends up standing sideways behind Starla, and when Starla turns to face him, David starts to lift his leg. Starla falls to the mat, backing away, clutching at her title. David holds his index finger and thumb close together. The cameras pick up what he's saying,
David Slayton: This close. I could have pulled the trigger and you would be out. Stay on your toes, Stutterfly. I can take that title away from you...
He snaps his fingers.
David Slayton: ...just like that.
David exits the ring, leaving Starla on her own.
Chris Pierce: David Slayton trying to get in the mind of Starla it seems.
Lily Luna: Tensions riding high between the two as they clash in two weeks at Horizon, which you can watch on the BWF Network!
