Grand Junction, Colorado
Episode XXXIX
Pyro blasts from the stage and Alternatron, before the cameras pan across the crowd to see the fans and their signs.
Mike Vincent: We're coming to you live from Grand Junction, this is AXW! I'm Mike Vincent with Cole Haywood, and what a hectic finish we had to last week's program.
Cole Haywood: The Alliance of Truth are back in full force, taking no prisoners and dismantling anything in their path. Tonight, Duncan Aries steps back into the ring with David Slayton.
Mike Vincent: As you said, that's later tonight, right now we have some other great action for you.
Failure by Breaking Benjamin fades into play in the arena. The lights dim as a spotlight centers up on the stage. 17 seconds into the song, pyros go off on either side of the stage and Clifford Bradley bursts onto the stage.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, from Miami, Florida, weighing in at 217 pounds, CLIFFORD BRADLEY!
Bradley makes his way down the ramp, high fiving fans on either side of the ramp before rolling under the bottom rope to enter the ring. In the ring, he goes to a corner and climbs to the middle rope and points to the crowd while nodding and smiling.
"Hear Me Now" plays throughout the arena and Malcolm M. Mitchell makes his way to the stage. He takes a moment to taunt, throwing shadow punches, then runs his hands through his hair and flicks the water off his hands, keeping his arms spread with his head up, soaking in the reaction from the crowd.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, from Riviera Beach, Florida, weighing in at 214 pounds, MALCOLM M. MITCHELL!
He walks down to the ring with confidence in every step. Malcolm enters the ring, climbs to the second turnbuckle, and does the same taunt he did on the stage.
Malcolm and Clifford lock up, with Malcolm taking Clifford to the mat with a side headlock takedown. Malcolm releases and the two get right back to their feet where Malcolm executes a Jumping Calf Kick. Clifford gets back up and this time Malcolm hits a Dropkick. Malcolm follows up with a Jumping Shoulder Jawbreaker, then starts targeting the leg of Clifford. He stomps away at it, before locking in a Figure Four Leg Lock. With the hold locked in, Malcolm decides to show off and do some sit-ups. This ends when Clifford manages to get a good punch to the face of Malcolm, as Clifford then escapes the hold. Malcolm gets to his feet and walks into a Belly-to-belly suplex. Clifford keeps Malcolm grounded as he delivers some forearms to the face of Malcolm. Malcolm gets back up, where he is taken right back down with a Running bulldog. Clifford lifts Malcolm up for a T-Bone Suplex, earning a two count. Clifford then plants Malcolm with a Spinebuster, another two count. Clifford hoists Malcolm onto his shoulders, where Malcolm elbows himself free before driving Clifford to the mat with a DDT. Both men take a moment to get to their feet, where Malcolm continues his offense with a Cutter. Malcolm whips Clifford to the ropes, where Clifford ducks a clothesline. Malcolm now runs the ropes as well, and when they meet in the middle of the ring, they take each other down with stereo clotheslines! Both men are down, and the cameras focus on a blonde woman who has stepped out onto the stage. She stays on the stage and watches on. The two start getting to their feet, and Clifford sees the woman. This seems to give Clifford the spark he needs, as he pops Malcolm with a hard punch to the jaw. Malcolm is loopy, and Clifford plants him to the mat with The Price Drop (Fit Finlay’s Celtic Cross), hooking the inside leg.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, CLIFFORD BRADLEY!
Mike Vincent: Clifford Bradley finally picking up a win after being stuck in a slump, but the big question is, who's this woman who came out here?
Cole Haywood: My next wife, hopefully.
Referee Brian Sullivan raises the hand of Clifford. Clifford exits the ring and walks up to the stage to meet with the woman, who is clapping in approval. The woman raises Clifford's arm, before the two make their way to the back.
-----
We're backstage with Damien Steele.
Damien Steele: I'm not gonna stand in front of this camera and take up a bunch of time, I'm gonna keep this simple. Deimos doesn't seem to thrilled about me. He seems to want to hurt me. Tell you what, big man, on July 2, I'll be at Staples Center. You'll be at Staples Center. Try to hurt me, because I will finally end the so-called monster that you claim to be.
The cameras cut back to ringside.
-----
As the metal version of the overworld theme of Super Mario World blares, also known as "Save the Dinosaurs" by Daniel Tidwell, The Nintendudes emerge, running in place on either side of the stage, then meeting at the center of the ramp and posing together, back to back before swinging their arms around Bushwhackers style to the music.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next tag team contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, making their AXW Debut, from Redmond, Washington, at a combined weight of 450 pounds, the team of "Player One" Mac Icarus and "Player Two" Link Zapper, THE NINTENDUDES!
They enter the ring and pose once more as their music fades.
"I Can't Drive 55" hits, and out walks Marky Mustang followed by Mayhem, who has that sadistic smile on his face.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And their opponents, from Cross City, Florida, at a combined weight of 435 pounds, the team of Marky Mustang and "The Loose Cannon" Mayhem, CROSS CITY STALLIONS!
Link Zapper starts the match off with Mayhem. Mayhem approaches him and gets taken down with a drop toe hold. Link hits Mayhem with a shuffle side kick, then a sit down jawbreaker. Link tags in Mac Icarus where the duo deliver a double snap suplex to Mayhem. Mac covers and gets two. Mayhem tries to get to his corner but Mac prevents it, powering him to the mat with a full nelson slam. Mac lifts Mayhem to his feet, Mayhem throwing wild punches for separation, then runs the ropes where Mac takes him down with a hip toss. Mac lifts Mayhem up for Snake Eyes followed by high belly to belly suplex, earning a two count. Mac brings Mayhem to his team's corner and tags in Link. Mac lifts Mayhem up, and Link springboards in as the two execute a Springboard Clothesline/Powerbomb Combo for a two count. Link lifts Mayhem to his feet where Mayhem surprises Link with a Fly Swatter (Double Handed Ear Clap). Mayhem straight up chokes Link, before delivering an STO. Mayhem uses one arm to apply a headlock, and the other to try to rip the mask off of Link. Link manages to shove him away, Mayhem going into his corner where Marky tags himself in. Marky takes Link down with a clothesline, and another sends Mac off the apron. Marky takes Link down with a Sidewinder Suplex. Marky brings Link right back to his feet before delivering a Olympic Slam. Marky gets fired up, only for Mayhem to tag himself back in. Mayhem kicks Marky in the gut and chucks him out of the ring. Link takes this time to hit Mayhem with a Spread Gun (Sudden Super Kick), and tags in Mac. The two execute Hit Reset (Mac Icarus Alabama Slam into a Link Zapper Backstabber), picking up their first win in AXW.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here are your winners, THE NINTENDUDES!
Mike Vincent: The debuting Mac Icarus and Link Zapper are successful in their first match here in AXW, a certainly impressive team to add to the tag division.
Cole Haywood: The Cross City Stallions are as dysfunctional as it gets though, I'm not sure what Marky was thinking allowing Mayhem into the group.
Link and Mac celebrate their first win, high fiving each other. They exit the ring once they see Marky enter, who lifts Mayhem to his feet, before bringing him back down with the Wyld Stallyns DDT(Future Shock DDT).

A close up of a rain stained notebook, open to these words, spoken in a whisper by Hailey Harris.
She believed she could, so she did.
Wind from an open window blows the pages as "Stronger Than You Think" by Fireflight blares, a deep pink hue shines down on the hooded figure of one Hailey Harris, clad in a simple gray hoodie, the camera staring at the back, where a matching deep pink heart shines under the light back around to Hailey who thrusts her arms in the air, pink pyros shooting up as Harris looks to the heavens with a smile before making her way to the ring, slapping hands with fans, her Longshots.
Mike Vincent: And here is our AXW Women’s Champion-
Cole Haywood: 2 time Women’s Champ, Vincent.
Mike Vincent: This is true, it’s also true some folks weren’t sure what to make of her recent words.
Cole Haywood: Well people need to stop being so touchy. She’s confident, she’s champion, and she’s kind of hot. I see no issue.
She tosses back her hood at ringside before scaling the ring apron and looking out on her fans, entering the ring and scaling a turnbuckle, pointing out to all of them, before making a heart with her hands, leaping off as "Stronger Than You Think" fades out. She tosses off her hoodie to reveal a fishnet and silver corset top to go with her black leather pants with pink back pockets, pink fingerless gloves, and black boots.
Hailey calls for a mic as the crowd gives her a mixed reaction, mostly positive.
Mike Vincent: Hailey still has quite the fan base here, that’s for sure.
Cole Haywood: Seems she has something on her mind tonight, Vincent. Let’s hear her!
Hailey Harris: “Can I be honest with you guys for a second? I just want to set a record straight here, and it’s important. It’s about telling the truth. When I stand before you, your AXW Women’s Champion, for the second time, truth can sometimes be hard to swallow. There are girls in the back who think they are above all of you, about this division, above this championship, and I’ve never seen my success as being above any of that.”
Harris looks down at her championship resting on her shoulder.
Hailey Harris: “Truth, however, as I said, can be a bitter pill. No one likes seeing their children grow up, move on, and evolve into the men and women they are meant to be, but that’s where I am. You are witnessing the evolution of Hailey Harris, into what I was meant to be, and that is the single greatest most successful women’s champion in the HISTORY of this company, and I know that ruffles some feathers, I know that makes people feel uncomfortable, but that, girls in the back, that, whether you want to follow me, whether you too feel uncomfortable with the evolution of a Longshot, is the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT..the truth.”
This once again draws a mixed reaction from the crowd, as Harris holds the championship in her arm, lifting it up and basking in the entire reaction from the fans, good and bad.
Suddenly..
Blue strobe lights roams around the arena like a trance as the opening tune of "Happy Song” by Bring Me The Horizon blares out of the PA system.
“LET’S GO!”
Out comes Janet Hurricane, her hoodie veil blinding her face. As the tempo gets faster and faster, we see her jumping up and down, still cannot see her face. Once we hear the lyrics, Janet reveals her face to the crowd and makes her way into the ring.
Janet Hurricane: The only evolution around here that matters is the evolution of Janet Hurricane. The last time I lost a match was in January, and yes, I lost to you. But that Janet Hurricane and the one standing before you are no longer the same entity. I have competed in two of the most brutal matches not only this year, but in the entire history of AXW, and who won those matches? I did. If you were to wrestle me again, the outcome will certainly be different from the last encounter we had. There's no one in this division that can stop me, and you are no exception.
Janet and Hailey start to get a little confrontational.
"Snake Charmer" hits as a strobe light show begins. A little bit of smoke pours over the stage. A little after 30 seconds, when the snare roll comes in, is when Caitlin Shay emerges from the back. She stops on the stage, and looks around the crowd, sneering, still unhappy about having to be in Grand Junction. She makes her way down into the ring.
Caitlin Shay: Well this is a very familiar eyesore, isn't it? You want to know an interesting fact about the three of us? Whenever us three were in the ring together, the two of you were on your backs while I held that title high into the air. In fact, I recall a time where I defeated both of you in consecutive matches. And what did you call yourself earlier, Hailey? The greatest women's champion in the history of this company? You know, that sounds kind of familiar...
Caitlin looks down at her shirt, which happens to be the Caitlin Shay "The Greatest" t-shirt, available at the AXW store.
Caitlin Shay: Oh, now I remember, that's something you stole from me, because I am The Greatest AXW Women's Champion Ever. Of All Time. Not you.
"Invincible" by Amaranthe hits, the fast pounding drums blaring loudly from the speakers as the lights dim completely. They come back to Android 18 standing at the entrance ramp, head down, the words 'The code awakens me' flash along the Alternatron behind her as she opens her eyes and brings her head up slowly. She walks stoically down the ramp and enters the ring and confronts Caitlin.
Android 18: I dominated you at Horizon. You know that.
Caitlin Shay: The only thing I know is that I won that match, and that's all that matters.
Android 18: But you didn't win last week. I did. I dominated you again. Since I defeated the alleged greatest, why don't I defeat another alleged greatest?
She turns towards Hailey.
As the tune of 'No One's Gonna Find Her In The Dark', a mashup between Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, starts to play, the lights go dim. The colors of pink and purple with green lazers start to shine through the area as Velvet comes out from behind the curtain. She points out to the fans while the music continues playing. Velvet walks down the ramp giving the 'rocker' sign and gives high-fives to the fans. She walks up the steps and enters the ring.
Velvet Valentine: Yeah, I know, you weren't really expecting me to come out here, were you? Everyone's talking past accomplishments, well, I'll share mine. In the history of AXW, there are three women who have held titles that aren't the Women's Championship. I'm in that exclusive club, and sure, I held the AXW Tag Team Championship because of the Freebird Rule, but I did defend the title, successfully I might add, against men. You're out here talking about your evolution and whatever else you were going on about, and frankly, I don't care about any of that, I care about the AXW Women's Championship. If everyone else is out here campaigning for a title match, then I'm also throwing my hat in.
“Like A Prayer” by Madonna plays through the speakers providing a peppy ambiance. The entire arena goes dark momentarily as “Sister Inferior” Olya Latanya Oglovska enters from the ramp, making her way into the ring.
Olya Oglovska: I'm da last active female competitor who hasn't come out here yet, and while I my not be da most deservink for a title match at dis time, I figured it was worth a shot. I am da longest reignink champion in history after all, and I was da one to dethrone Caitlin Shay.
Hailey Harris: This is really cute. Really it is. You all want title matches, do you? Well, here's what I have to say--
"Still Counting" by Volbeat starts to play as the camera pans from the crowd to the Alternatron, showing a bit of the entrance video, before shifting to the stage where Luke Mathews emerges from the back.
Luke Mathews: I'm sorry to interrupt, Hailey, but when it comes down to it, what I have to say will override what you were likely about to say. You see, I look into that ring and I see a great opportunity. An opportunity for one of you to Rise. On July 2 in Los Angeles, Hailey Harris will defend the AXW Women's Championship against Janet Hurricane, Caitlin Shay, Android 18, Velvet Valentine, and Olya Oglovska in a 6-Woman Ladder Match. Now with the six of you in the ring right now and there being some high tension, if a brawl ensues the match is off. In fact, I'm going to need you all to leave the ring so we can get on with the next match.
Slowly but surely, the woman leave, with Hailey being the last to leave.
Mike Vincent: A huge match made for AXW's premier event, it will be exciting to see who will Rise.
Cole Haywood: Certainly not fair to Hailey Harris, she just won the title and her first defense is against five other women!
Mike Vincent: You can of course watch Rise on the BWF Network, free of charge.
Cole Haywood: The free version of course will have advertisements, if you'd prefer an ad-free experience, head over to BWFNetwork.com for payment details.

Salvatore Pellegrino: This next contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the AXW Light Heavyweight Championship!
"Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring plays of the P.A. system as the camera pans over the arena stopping at the entrance way as Danny Hall, sporting a fur vest, strolls down to the ring stopping sometimes to yell at children, then when he gets to the ring he rolls under the bottom rope to sit in the corner then he stands up.....in the corner.
"Dammit" takes over, and out walks Trent Mathews. He drops to his knees on the stage with his arms outspread, with a pyro raining behind him. He gets to his feet and makes his way down the ramp. He slides into the ring and removes his title, climbing a turnbuckle and hoisting it high into the air.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Introducing first, the challenger, from Camden, Tennessee, weighing in at 220 pounds, he is the BWF Chaos Theory Champion, "Mr. Most Hated" DANNY HALL!
Danny signals he will be the next Light Heavyweight Champion, all while staring a hole through Trent.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, from Owasco, New York, weighing in at 217 pounds, he is the defending AXW Light Heavyweight Champion, TRENT MATHEWS!
Trent pays no mind to Danny as he walks toward the ropes, raising his title into the air for the camera.
Danny tries throwing various strikes, which Trent dodges and then gets out of the ring. Danny goes to get him, but a chase ensues as Danny tries to catch Trent. They run around the ring, where Trent hops up onto the ring steps and delivers a Trent's Twist (A corkscrew senton) to the oncoming Danny. Trent then slams Danny face first on the steps, before sliding back into the ring. Suddenly, Danny finds himself back on the floor as Trent dives out with a Tope Con Hilo. Trent rolls Danny back into the ring, going for a cover, and only getting two. Trent lifts Danny to his feet where Danny nails Trent with a spinning back kick, which drops Trent to his knees. Danny runs the ropes then connects with a Kick to Side of Head. Danny goes for a cover but Trent kicks out at one. Danny keeps on the attack by hitting an enzuigiri, then lifts Trent up for a Release Powerbomb. Danny runs back to the ropes, this time nearly decapitating Trent with a Clothesline From Hall(Clotheline from Hell). This time Danny gets a two count. Danny starts to lift Trent back up, but Trent double legs Danny and rolls into the jackknife pin, Danny kicking out right at two. The two get up and Trent kicks Danny in the gut, setting up a Double Underhook Backbreaker. Danny clutches at his back and crawls to the corner to help him up, which is when Trent barrels in with a Swinging Corner Clothesline. Trent stays on the apron, awaiting for Danny to get in position, then enters the ring with a springboard dropkick that sends Danny tumbling to the opposite corner. Trent follows up with a Running Face Wash. Trent immediately lifts Danny from the corner and delivers his European Uppercut, quickly followed by a Rolling Elbow. Trent climbs to the top rope from inside the ring, and dives off with Etrentity (Phoenix Splash), but Danny got his knees up! Danny lifts Trent onto his shoulders and drops him with Hallway to Hell (Roode Bomb)!
One!
Two!
Trent gets his foot on the rope.
Three!
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, and the NEW AXW Light Heavyweight Champion, DANNY HALL!
Mike Vincent: Danny Hall makes history by being the first two-time AXW Light Heavyweight Champion!
Cole Haywood: He shouldn't be! Trent had his foot on the rope! This match should still be going!
Mike Vincent: Unfortunately for Trent Mathews, the referee was out of position, and what he saw was Trent's shoulders on the mat for three.
Danny receives the Light Heavyweight Title, and raises it high into the air, and exits the ring, continuing his celebration on the way up the ramp. In the ring, Trent is pissed off at referee Brian Sullivan, exclaiming things such as "MY FOOT WAS ON THE F--KING ROPE!" "DO YOU KNOW WHAT A ROPE BREAK IS?" "IF I WAS STILL IN CHARGE YOU'D BE FIRED ON THE SPOT!" among other things.

We cut backstage to Brad Adams.
Brad Adams: Ladies and gentlemen, Brad Adams here, and my guests are Justin Wyndham and TO'A, collectively being referred to as Lethal Weapons. Gentlemen, at Rise you will be competing against War Horse for the AXW Tag Team Championships. Do you have any general thoughts or comments you wish to share?
Justin Wyndham: First and foremost, we already have some momentum on our side. If you haven't watched The Alternative yet, here's some spoilers: I beat Ryan Starr.
TO'A: On top of that, Ryan and Austin have been teaming for what, half a year? While me and Justin may not have seen eye to eye recently, our relationship goes back years. War Horse can talk about how they'll beat anybody and how they're the best wrestlers here, but we beg to differ.
Justin Wyndham: That's right. With us together, we're gonna be unstoppable, and War Horse will learn that first hand when we stand over them as the new AXW Tag Team Champions.
Brad Adams: Thanks for the time guys, we're gonna head to commercial.
UPCOMING MAJOR BWF NETWORK EVENTS:
MONDAY, MAY 30
SATURDAY, JULY 2
TUESDAY, JULY 26
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the AXW Xperience Championship!
As Daniel Licht’s “Hide Your Tears” opens with a sweet Spanish guitar lick, the lights dim into a golden hue, as elegant script spelling out “The Tragic Hero” flashes over the video wall. Fhenix emerges, his back to us, clad in a golden wrestling robe. He turns as the song gets a bit darker and heavier in tone, golden pyros raining down behind him as he poses, arms outstretched with a smirk. He walks to the ring with smooth confidence, entering the ring and scaling a turnbuckle, actually cupping an ear and egging on the crowd for more hatred before leaping off with a sinister smirk, which slowly turns into an eerily focused, stern glance, a mastermind considering strategy before his match begins, his music fading out.
"Too Drunk to Fuck" by the Dead Kennedys kicks in as a smirking Jack Adams comes jogging out from the back. He looks at the crowd, laughing to himself as he walks to the ring, all the while Adams is goading the fans and prevoking them, daring them to punch him, before feigning punching them himself. Generally, just being a bully. Adams slides into the ring and being the dick he is, just yells to the hard camera "LAST REAL MAN ALIVE!"
Before we can even get to the introductions, Jonathan attacks Jack, which gets the match started.
Jonathan stomps away on Jack, before lifting him up and throwing him shoulder first into the ring post. Jonathan pulls him out then delivers a Snap suplex, followed by a Snap side kick. Jonathan tries to get a quick win but Jack kicks out at two. Jonathan looks to whip Jack but Jack sends Jonathan to the ropes instead, and delivers a Throwdown Spinebuster. As Jonathan gets back up, Jack hits him with several Knife Edge Chops to the chest and throat. Jack hits a Swinging Back Heel Kick, then runs the ropes for a Running Arched Boot. Jack could go for a cover, but instead looks to do more damage. Jack lifts Jonathan up for a Running Corner Powerbomb, which is of course the precursor to the Meat Hook Lariat. Jack goes for the cover here and gets only two. Jack doesn't allow Jonathan to get back up as he delivers an Alabama Stompdown (Garvin Stomp). Jack once again takes to the ropes where he looks for an Alabama Hamma (Running Polish Hammer), but Jonathan ducks it. Jack keeps running and bounces back, where he's planted with a Stock Market Crash (D-Lo Brown's Sky High). Jonathan stands near the ropes, telling Jack to get up, and when he does and approaches Jonathan, is lifted up for Try To Breathe (High flap jack hot shot into the ropes, followed by a stiff running kick aimed right at the throat). Jonathan tries to lock in Fhenix Tears (Haas Of Pain), but Jack gets to the ropes before he can. Jack hits Jonathan with a back elbow for some separation, then doubles him over for an Alabama Slam (Short Throw down Powerbomb/Also Sit down Variation). Jack looks for the Gotch-Style Piledriver but Jonathan counters with a back body drop. Jonathan then quickly sets up The Tragic Hero (Hard irish whip spun into a tilt a whirl sideslam but flowed through into an RKO), and it connects!
One!
Two!
Three!
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, and NEW AXW Xperience Champion, JONATHAN FHENIX!
Mike Vincent: More history made as Jonathan Fhenix is now the first person to hold the Xperience Title twice.
Cole Haywood: This is only the first title change tonight in my eyes, and a well deserved win for the Alliance of Truth tonight.
Jonathan receives the AXW Xperience Championship, and before any post-match shenanigans ensue, decides to get out of the arena safely and unharmed.
-----
Backstage, Craig Brooks catches up with Clifford Bradley and the blonde woman.
Craig Brooks: Cliff, who's this woman you've seemingly aligned with?
Clifford Bradley: Cliff? You don't know me like that. This here is Alyssa Liles. She's taking me to the top, plain and simple.
Alyssa Liles: The days of Clifford Bradley losing are over. Clifford's career in AXW has been rocky, and from here on out, it's smooth sailing until Clifford is a champion.
Clifford Bradley: Now if you'll excuse us, we have business to discuss.
Clifford and Alyssa leave and we head back to ringside.
-----
Salvatore Pellegrino: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Main Event, scheduled for one fall!
PUT ON YOUR WAR PAINT!
The lights in the arena all cut to black and the Tron comes to life, pulsating with a green light as a quiet beat gets louder with every flash. It gets faster and faster, and louder with each pulse, until the pulsating light explodes into the words "Blazenwing Rises" and “The Phoenix” by Fall Out Boy blares across the arena sound system.
You are a brick tied to me that's dragging me down
Strike a match and I'll burn you to the ground
We are the jack-o-lanterns in July
Setting fire to the sky
He-here comes this rising tide
So come on
PUT ON YOUR WAR PAINT!
The stage fills with smoke and the crowd rises to their feet, cheering loudly, as the smoke clears on the stage and a man in a dark green trenchcoat stands, head down, facing the Tron. He raises his hands and snaps his fingers, causing four loud bursts of pyro to ignite, two on each side of him, before spinning around Y2J style to reveal David Slayton!
Salvatore Pellegrino: Introducing first, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, weighing in at 245 pounds, here is "The New Hotness" DAVID SLAYTON!
Cross walks and crossed hearts and hope-to-dies
Silver clouds with grey linings
So we can take the world back from the heart-attacked
One maniac at a time we will take it back
You know time crawls on when you're waiting for the song to start
So dance alone to the beat of your heart
His sunglasses shining with the glare from the arena lights, David looks to the left, then to the right, nodding towards the crowd before walking down the ramp. After stopping to slap hands with a few fans, David moves towards the ring steps and hops up and down a few times in front of them before quickly racing up the steps to the apron side facing the stage. He stops and pulls his sunglasses off, then tosses them behind his head into the crowd before leaning down and stepping through the ropes to enter the ring.
Hey young blood
Doesn't it feel like our time is running out?
I'm gonna change you like a remix
Then I'll raise you like a phoenix
You're wearing our vintage misery
No, I think it looked a little better on me
I'm gonna change you like a remix
Then I'll raise you like a phoenix
David walks across the ring and leaps up onto the second rope in the corner nearest the timekeeper, then pulls off his green trenchcoat and tosses it towards the timekeeper. David smirks and points to the fans, then slaps his chest a few times and points up towards the sky, closing his eyes and saying a short prayer. David leaps down from the corner and immediately turns to sit down in the same corner, ala Raven. David then rests his head on the second turnbuckle pad as his theme fades and the crowd continues cheering.
The arena lights descend to darkness, as the tron displays an old black and white vision of an apocalyptic scene, as within a broken building we hear the crackle and zap of electricity, pulses of computers, as there, standing before the rubble is a figure in a denim jacket and tattered denim jeans. The figure turns slowly, and forms a smirk from under a pair of black Aviator shades.
"Not even God can save you.."
The crowd roars to "Not Even God" by Digital Summer, as some are booing, some cheering, an ice blue hue filling the ramp and entrance, a thin mist that under a spotlight has an eerie glow for one Duncan Aries! Aries has his back to us, looking down, before spinning around, arms crossed and head cocked in a smirk.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, from San Diego, California, weighing in at 238 pounds, "The Wild Card" DUNCAN ARIES!
Aries strides to the ring, paying no mind before tossing his shades into the crowd and leaping onto the apron. Entering the ring, Aries spins around, basking in the glow of the reaction, positive or negative, tossing off his jacket, yelling out "Because I'm Duncan Aries, motherfuckers!" as "Not Even God" fades out.
The two look like they're about to lock up, when Duncan throws a left hook. Duncan takes David down with a sidewalk slam. Duncan continues his offense with a back suplex. Duncan then delivers a flurry of buzzsaw kicks, followed by some stiff kicks to the sternum of a kneeling David. David manages to duck a kick and trips Duncan. David gets on offense starting with a Sit-Out Facebuster. David follows up with a neckbreaker. David takes Duncan down with some Short-Arm Clothesline, then runs the ropes and delivers a Lou Thesz Press, followed by Mounted Punches, but Duncan manages to turn it around and mounts David, punching him. David is back to his feet and is rocked by a European uppercut. Duncan hooks David's head and executes an Orton style backbreaker, then follows that up with a double powerbomb. Duncan pulls himself up to the second turnbuckle, and jumps off with a Hart style elbow from second rope for a two count. David tries to get bck on offense but is instead slammed to the mat with a snap powerslam. Duncan ascends to the top turnbuckle, where he dives off for a missile dropkick. David side steps it and Duncan crashes to the mat. Duncan is lifted up for a Triple German Suplex. David leaps up into the air and drives his elbow into the chest of Aries. David hoists Duncan onto his shoulders and slams him to the mat with a Samoan Drop. David swiftly gets Duncan back onto his shoulders and plants him with a Death Valley Driver. David stands in the corner where he looks to take Duncan's head off with The Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music). As David lifts his leg Duncan manages to duck. David takes another couple of steps and hits The Full Effect on Jonathan Fhenix, who he just saw was climbing on the apron. David gestures that Fhenix can suck it, then turns around right into The Culmination (Front slam pickup swung into a Rock Bottom) from Duncan Aries.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, DUNCAN ARIES!
Mike Vincent: A slight distraction from Jonathan Fhenix is all Duncan Aries needed to pick up the win.
Cole Haywood: What are you talking about? Duncan Aries won fair and square, no distractions at all.
Mike Vincent: Jonathan Fhenix climbed on the ap--
Cole Haywood: I didn't see nothin'!
Duncan goes out to check on Fhenix, and helps him to his feet. They enter the ring and stalk Duncan, waiting for him to get to his feet so they can do their damage. Suddenly, Duncan Aries hits the mat as he gets a springboard dropkick to the back courtesy of Gabe Shelley. Jonathan Fhenix is lifted onto Gabe's shoulders before being planted to the mat with The reVolt (Cradle Shock)! Gabe helps David to his feet, and suddenly David is back to the mat via big boot from Steve Corman. Gabe tries to fight off Corman, but Corman shoves him so hard, he falls to the mat. Gabe stands back up, but is tripped from the outside by Jack Adams. Jack slides into the ring and drives Gabe to the mat with the Gotch-Style Piledriver!
Cole Haywood: Heed the warning: this is Steve Corman Country now.
Mike Vincent: We end the show with the Corman Guys standing tall, tune in next week for more action!
