Las Vegas, Nevada
Episode XL
Pyro explodes from the stage and Alternatron before the cameras pan across the crowd.
Mike Vincent: This is AXW live from Las Vegas! I'm Mike Vincent with Cole Haywood.
Cole Haywood: Tonight Duncan Aries takes on Steve Corman in a non-title bout, but a win for Aries will of course put him back where he belongs in the title picture.
Mike Vincent: That's later tonight, however. We have plenty of other action for you as well, and we're gonna get it underway.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This contest is set for one fall, and it is for the AXW Xperience Championship!
"Too Drunk to Fuck" by the Dead Kennedys kicks in as a smirking Jack Adams comes jogging out from the back. He looks at the crowd, laughing to himself as he walks to the ring, all the while Adams is goading the fans and prevoking them, daring them to punch him, before feigning punching them himself. Generally, just being a bully. Adams slides into the ring and being the dick he is, just yells to the hard camera "LAST REAL MAN ALIVE!"
As Daniel Licht’s “Hide Your Tears” opens with a sweet Spanish guitar lick, the lights dim into a golden hue, as elegant script spelling out “The Tragic Hero” flashes over the video wall. Fhenix emerges, his back to us, clad in a golden wrestling robe. He turns as the song gets a bit darker and heavier in tone, golden pyros raining down behind him as he poses, arms outstretched with a smirk. He walks to the ring with smooth confidence, entering the ring and scaling a turnbuckle, actually cupping an ear and egging on the crowd for more hatred before leaping off with a sinister smirk, which slowly turns into an eerily focused, stern glance, a mastermind considering strategy before his match begins, his music fading out.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Introducing first, the challenger, representing the Steve Corman Guys, from Fort Payne, Alabama, weighing in at 230 pounds, "The Last Real Man" JACK ADAMS!
Jack looks on as he looks like he's going to destroy Fhenix.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, representing The Alliance of Truth, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 240 pounds, he is the defending AXW Xperience Champion, "The Tragic Hero" JONATHAN FHENIX!
Jonathan, looking as smug as ever, raises his newly won championship into the air.
vs.
Jack comes right out of the gate viciously attacking Fhenix. He ends up having Fhenix doubled over and slams him to the mat with a powerbomb, then picks him right back up and delivers a Running Corner Powerbomb, which is of course the set up to the Meat Hook Lariat. This sees a two count for Jack who hits some Knife Edge Chops (aimed at the chest and throat), and again gets Fhenix doubled over, but Fhenix takes Jack to the mat with a Jackknife pin, a two count. Fhenix nails Jack with a Step up Enziguri, then goes to irish whip Jack, and ends up pulling him back in, picking him up for a Stock Market Crash (D-Lo Brown's Sky High). Fhenix pulls Jack off the mat and this time sends him to the ropes, lifting him high into the air for Try To Breathe (High flap jack hot shot into the ropes, followed by a stiff running kick aimed right at the throat). Fhenix gets a two count and now whips Jack to the corner. Fhenix runs in and runs into a boot. Jack darts out of the corner, hitting the ropes and taking Fhenix down with an Alabama Hamma (Running Polish Hammer). Jack immediately follows up with the Alabama Stompdown (Garvin Stomp). Jack takes Fhenix to the mat with a Guillotine Neckbreaker. Jack continues to show off his strength as he now executes a Delayed Suplex. Jack focuses on the leg as he connects with a Stepover leg breaker, and then locks in the High Angle Boston Crab! Fhenix howls out in pain, reaching out for ropes but they aren't nearby. Just when it looks like it's going to be over for Fhenix, he starts to twist himself out and reverses into a sort of small package, getting the surprise three count.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, and STILL the AXW Xperience Champion, JONATHAN FHENIX!
Mike Vincent: Jonathan Fhenix looked like he was in serious trouble, but once again finds a way to trump his former 2 Man Gang tag team partner.
Cole Haywood: As much as I enjoy The Alliance of Truth and the Steve Corman Guys, it's still fun to play "What If". What if 2MG were running the ranks in AXW?
Fhenix quickly gets out of the arena with his title, satisfied with his win.

We cut backstage to Luke Mathews' office. Standing from left to right are Trent Mathews, dressed in his usual ring gear and leather jacket, Luke Mathews, wearing jeans, a black t-shirt, and a suit jacket, with his BWF Trios Championship over his shoulder, and Danny Hall, in his usual ring gear, with the AXW Light Heavyweight Championship and BWF Chaos Theory Championship over each shoulder. Conspicuous by her absence is Sam De Santa.
Danny Hall: So where's the bitch at?
Trent Mathews: If you are referring to the lovely Sam De Santa, she is on vacation in Austin, attending the X Games. And if you call her a derogatory name again, you're gonna get dropped where you stand.
Luke Mathews: Let's keep it civil for the time being, guys. You've both been called here due to the controversy in your match last week.
Danny Hall: I won the title fair and square, the referee's decision is final.
Luke Mathews: Usually that's the case, yes, but I do have the power to reverse it.
Danny Hall: No you don't!
Luke Mathews: Yes I do. Because Trent's foot was on the rope, the pin should have been broken, and the match should have continued. I am hereby cancelling out Brian Sullivan's decision, and the record books will show that Trent Mathews never lost the title, and that Danny Hall has held the title only once.
Luke takes the title from Danny and places it onto Trent's shoulder.
Danny Hall: That's bullshit!
Trent Mathews: That's justice. I guess you still are good for something, huh dad? Later.
Trent goes to leave but Luke stops him.
Luke Mathews: I have more to say.
Trent Mathews: Of course you do.
Luke Mathews: Danny, you of course will get a shot at redemption. On July 2nd at Rise, Trent Mathews defends the AXW Light Heavyweight Championship against Danny Hall in a No Disqualifications Match. That of course also means there will be no rope breaks.
Danny Hall: Of course that also means Sam De Santa can try to weasel Trent to another victory, but if she does, Trent, I'm gonna take her out, and I don't mean on a date.
Trent Mathews: If you even lay a single finger on her, you'll live the rest of your life in a wheelchair.
Danny Hall: I'd like to see you try. Your days are numbered, I'm taking that back one way or another.
Danny backs out of the room.

“Like A Prayer” by Madonna plays through the speakers providing a peppy ambiance. The entire arena goes dark momentarily as “Sister Inferior” Olya Latanya Oglovska enters from the ramp with a pair of opera binoculars in her right hand. Three spotlights highlight various audience members who have striking physical attributes. As Olya walks down to the ramp she fans herself with a bidder paddle.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, from Saratov, Russia, weighing 115 pounds, "Sister Inferior" OLYA OGLOVSKA!
Upon reaching the arena floor and within clear eye line of her opponent, all three spotlights converge. Oglovska raises her bidder paddle to indicate she plans on procuring another priceless artifact for her exhibit.
As the tune of 'No One's Gonna Find Her In The Dark', a mashup between Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, starts to play, the lights go dim. The colors of pink and purple with green lazers start to shine through the area as Velvet comes out from behind the curtain. She points out to the fans while the music continues playing. Velvet walks down the ramp giving the 'rocker' sign and gives high-fives to the fans.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And her opponent, weighing 125 pounds, Las Vegas, Nevada's own VELVET VALENTINE!
She walks up the steps and heads to the ropes. She blows a little kiss and straddles the ropes. Velvet glances into the camera and wiggles while pointing to the camera. As she gets into the ring, the chorus of her music begins to play. As the chorus is playing, Velvet is finally in the ring. She hops up onto the top turnbuckle and gives the 'rocker' sign once again, then yells at the fans to get them psyched up. She then jumps down from the turnbuckle and does a few arm stretches before the match starts.
vs.
The crowd is firmly behind hometown girl Velvet Valentine. The two lock up, with Velvet getting Olya in an arm wrench, takes her down with an arm drag, then leg drops her arm. Olya gets back to her feet shaking her arm, before being taken down by Velvet with a Snapmare followed by a neck snap followed by a sliding clothesline. This gets barely a two count for Velvet. Velvet locks Olya in a half nelson, but whatever she was trying to set up is thwarted as Olya manages to spin behind Velvet and slams her to the mat with a German Suplex. Velvet gets back up where she's taken right back down with a Frankensteiner by Olya. Olya whips Velvet to the ropes. Velvet springs back looking for a Wheelbarrow Bulldog, but Olya counters with a Wheelbarrow Suplex. Olya hoists Velvet onto her shoulders for an Airplane Spin. Olya follows up with a Sombo Suplex that sees a two count. Olya lifts Velvet to her feet where Velvet delivers a surprise Jawbreaker. Velvet executes a Spinning heel kick. Olya uses the corner to help herself up where Velvet comes in with a Monkey flip. Olya is back to her feet and is hit with a dropkick, Olya stumbles back before falling into the corner. Velvet follows up with a Bronco buster. Velvet ascends to the top turnbuckle where she looks for a Diving crossbody, but Olya catches her mid-air with the Soviet Sickle [Shades of Lance Storm's Superkick)! Olya falls on her for the cover, but Velvet manages to get her foot on the rope. Olya again pulls Velvet to her feet, Velvet quickly grabbing Olya's arms delivering a Straightjacket Feeling (Straight jacket sitout rear mat slam)! Jessie McCormick counts the three.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, VELVET VALENTINE!
Mike Vincent: Velvet Valentine with a huge win over the longest reigning AXW Women's Champion Olya Oglovska.
Cole Haywood: Velvet is looking to put herself on the map as she transitions back into singles competition, but at Rise it's not gonna be one on one like it was tonight, there's gonna be five other women and a ladder, and she's gonna have to pick up the win when it really counts.
Jessie raises Velvet's hand. Velvet exits the ring and celebrates with her hometown crowd, taking pictures and signing a few autographs, before we head to commercial.

Gina Furlow: Welcome back, my guest at this time is Janet Hurricane.
The camera pans over to see Janet.
Gina Furlow: Janet, y--
Janet Hurricane: You know what? No. I'm not gonna stand here and listen to your questions. Everything I had to say, I said last week. Any questions you have, save them. They'll be answered in due time when I leave the Staples Center with what's mine.
Janet walks off.

"Second Sucks" by A Day to Remember plays and out walks Toa with the towel, drenched in blood, wrapped around his neck. He is staring down on the ground and listening to the boos and cheers coming from the fans.
"FIGHT"
Once he hears the opening line, he starts walking down the ramp, still not showing his face.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This next contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, representing Lethal Weapons, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing in at 280 pounds, "Samoan Executioner" TO'A!
When he walks up the steel steps and enters the ring, he throws the towel on the ground and does a battle cry.
‘War Machine’ begins to play, as the crowd rises to their feet. The song plays out with the white spots lights zooming around the arena until the 33 second mark when the drums kick in and Austin Graves steps out from the back, checking the black hockey tape on his wrists. Graves pays no attention to the crowd whether they boo or cheer him, and he’s focused like a laser beam on the task at hand.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, representing War Horse, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, he is one half of the AXW Tag Team Champions, AUSTIN "WAR MACHINE" GRAVES!
Rolling into the ring under the bottom rope, he rolls to his feet and walks over to the hard (tv) camera side of the ropes, placing both hands on the top ropes, pressing down on them slightly, staring coldly into the camera at first, then giving way to a cold, almost sick half smile as if to say, “I’m going to enjoy this…”
vs.
The two start off by trading punches, with TO'A winning that contest, backing Austin to the ropes. TO'A sends Austin to the opposite ropes. Austin ducks a clothesline and bounces back off the ropes, taking TO'A down with a Full Blast Elbow Strike. Austin nails a European Uppercut then locks TO'A in a Cravate, before delivering a Cutter. Austin grabs the head of TO'A and delivers a Hangman into snap Facebreaker (Across Knee). Austin runs the ropes again only to be taken down by a Warrior Slam (One-armed side slam, as a counter to an oncoming opponent). TO'A whips Austin to the corner and follows right behind him to hit the cornered forearm smash, which is immediately followed by an Executioner (Jumping twisting enzuigiri while facing away from a cornered opponent). Austin slumps to a seated position which allows TO'A to deliver a Samoan Wrecking Ball (Running hip attack to the head of an opponent seated in the corner with theatrics). This whole sequence gets TO'A a two count. TO'A sets Austin on on the top rope as he looks to set up a Muscle Buster, but Austin fights him off. Austin jumps off the second rope and manages to deliver a Double Knee Facebreaker. TO'A pops up and is trying not to fall back, but the Out of No-Where (Superkick) takes him down. Austin jumps up and delivers a senton, which causes TO'A to sit up, holding his gut. Austin then delivers a Sliding Full Force Lariat. Austin has TO'A doubled over and is trying to set up Cradle 2 Grave
(Package Piledriver) but TO'A counters with a back body drop. TO'A tries to lift Austin for a suplex, but Austin reverse with a small package, but both men's shoulders are on the mat as Gus Ramos counts the three.
Salvatore Pellegrino: The result of this match is a draw!
Mike Vincent: Not surprising this one ends in a draw, these two are evenly matched, as we've seen from their battles in the past.
Cole Haywood: TO'A was one of Austin Graves' first rivals in AXW, and now they're back at it again, this time with gold on the line as their respective teams will meet at Rise.
TO'A and Austin want to keep going at it, but Gus Ramos is doing his best to keep them apart. Justin Wyndham and Ryan Starr come down to keep their respective team mates separated, telling them to wait for Rise.

We're backstage, where Mayhem seems to be looking for something. Marky Mustang walks up behind him.
Marky Mustang: Looking for something?
Mayhem turns around, ready to strike.
Marky Mustang: I'm not here to attack you. I'm gonna wait. All of this is going to end, and it's going to end at Rise. Us vs. you.
Mayhem: Two on one?
Marky Mustang: Technically, yes, but you know how scared Max is of you.
Mayhem laughs sadistically.
Mayhem: Oh, Max. It'll be so fun to mess with him in that match...
Marky Mustang: There'll be no messing with him, I'm going to ensure that. And, uh...
Marky pulls out the shovel.
Marky Mustang: ...we're gonna be playing your game. In order for you to win, you have to bury one of us alive. In order for us to win, we have to bury you alive.
Mayhem: That'll be so easy, Max isn't even make it into the arena out of pure fear.
Marky Mustang: Yeah, well--
Marky hits Mayhem in the gut with the shovel. Mayhem drops to his knees and Marky drops the shovel.
Marky Mustang: Good luck trying to get through me.
Marky walks off, leaving Mayhem behind. Mayhem, despite being in pain, continues to laugh as this is just more fuel for him.

The lights all go out and "Miseria Cantare" by AFI starts as a single spotlight shines on the entrance as Damien Steele is standing in the entrance hair in front of his face as at the 45 second mark of the song. Damien flips his hair back and starts to walk down to the ring, as the words of the song start.
LOVE... YOUR HATE...
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, representing the Steve Corman Guys, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 221 pounds, he is "The Vicious One" DAMIEN STEELE!
Damien Steele makes no connection to any fans that might be throwing insults his way, almost as if he is only focused on the ring, and more specifically his opponent.
YOUR... FAITH LOST...
Steele reaches the ring as he walks around to the steps.
YOU... ARE NOW...
Damien waits at the bottom of the steps keeping his eyes on his opponent.
ONE... OF US...
A wicked smile comes across his face as the words of the song repeat again just a little bit faster this time.
LOVE... YOUR HATE... YOUR... FAITH LOST... YOU... ARE NOW... ONE... OF US...
Steele takes one step up the steps, still keeping his eyes locked on his opponent till he reaches the top step and wipes his feet before entering the ring never taking his eyes off his opponent.
vs.
The two lock up. Clash knees Steele in the gut and lifts him up for a suplex. Clash delivers some stomps before bouncing off the ropes and delivering a knee drop. This gets a quick one count. Clash takes Steele back down with a Swinging neckbreaker, and waits for him to get back up before delivering a Clothesline from hell. This gets a two count, and Clash looks for another clothesline, this time Steele ducks and catches Clash with a Pele Kick. Steele grabs Clash's head and executes an Asai DDT. Steele connects with a beautiful Standing Shooting Star Press for a two count. Damien immediately follows up with the Avada Kedavra. Clash rolls out of the ring trying to recollect himself, but Steele wastes no time by leaping over the top rope with a No Hands Space Flying Tigersault. Steele gets Clash on the apron, where he then delivers a Falling Paroxysm on the apron! Crash crumbles to the floor and Steele enters the ring, prematurely celebrating his countout victory. Unbeknownst to Steele, Clash gets back into the ring at the count of wht has to be 19.9, and Steele finds out when he's driven to the mat by an Inverted ddt. Clash follows up with a Body Slam. Clash backs to the corner, and waits for the perfect moment to strike, then runs in and delivers the Head punt! Clash is in shock when Steele kicks out. Clash hoists Steele onto his shoulders as he looks for Legend Maker (f5), but it's countered into a Tornado DDT. Steele rolls out to the apron, and then uses the ropes to help him up before climbing to the top turnbuckle. Clash is starting to get up, and Steele jumps, delivering a Loony Stomp from the top rope!
Salvatore Pellegrino: Here is your winner, DAMIEN STEELE!
Mike Vincent: Damien Steele continues to impress.
Cole Haywood: You can doubt him all you want, and he'll keep putting on performances like this, defeating alleged legends. Damien Steele is AXW's best kept secret.
Steele doesn't get a lot of time to celebrate, as he's floored by Deimos. Deimos knocks Damien out with The Halberd (Straight Uppercut). And if that wasn't enough, he plants him to the mat with an Art of War (Double Underhook Stalling Brainbuster DDT). Deimos places his foot on the side of Damien's face, and raises his fists into the air.

We cut backstage to Max Kilburne.
Max Kilburne: Max Kilburne here, and my guest at this time is one of AXW's newcomers, Anthony Royal.
Anthony steps into the frame.
Max Kilburne: You've spent the past month competing on The Alternative, and you have yet to be defeated. You're a well-accomplished competitor that could find success anywhere, so why is it that you chose AXW?
Anthony Royal: I feel as if... I didn't choose AXW, rather AXW chose me. AXW was not complete until Anthony Royal joined the roster.
Max Kilburne: Well, now that you're here, what do you look to accomplish?
Anthony Royal: You said it yourself, I'm a well-accomplished competitor, and that's not gonna stop anytime soon, Kilburne. In my eyes, there's no such thing as having too much. I have a lot of championships to my name, and I fully intend on adding a lot more.
Max Kilburne: No shame in being confident. Let's head back to ringside as we prepare for the main event.
-----
The arena lights descend to darkness, as the tron displays an old black and white vision of an apocalyptic scene, as within a broken building we hear the crackle and zap of electricity, pulses of computers, as there, standing before the rubble is a figure in a denim jacket and tattered denim jeans. The figure turns slowly, and forms a smirk from under a pair of black Aviator shades.
"Not even God can save you.."
The crowd roars to "Not Even God" by Digital Summer, as some are booing, some cheering, an ice blue hue filling the ramp and entrance, a thin mist that under a spotlight has an eerie glow for one Duncan Aries! Aries has his back to us, looking down, before spinning around, arms crossed and head cocked in a smirk.
Salvatore Pellegrino: This is your Main Event scheduled for one fall, introducing first, representing The Alliance of Truth, from San Diego, California, weighing in at 238 pounds, "The Wild Card" DUNCAN ARIES!
Aries strides to the ring, paying no mind before tossing his shades into the crowd and leaping onto the apron. Entering the ring, Aries spins around, basking in the glow of the reaction, positive or negative, tossing off his jacket, yelling out "Because I'm Duncan Aries, motherfuckers!" as "Not Even God" fades out.
begins to play. The crowd reacts with overall boos and jeers, but there is the small population of fans, for either nostalgia or just plain assholes, that cheer and do the hero worship wave, wearing Icon Merch.
Salvatore Pellegrino: And his opponent, from Hamilton, Ontario, weighing in at 275 pounds, he is the AXW Champion and "The Icon" STEVE CORMAN!
Big Stevie Cool walks out dressed in his classic BSC ring attire, black shiny side lace up pants and a black wrestling tank with "BSC" on the front. As well as a black elbow pad on his right elbow with "ICON" written in gold across it. He stops to look around the arena and the boos being thrown in his direction. Corman makes it very clear to the fans that “all of this” is because of Him. He smiles his cocky smile, then double thumb points to himself, taps his right index finger on his temple and slowly pans his left hand, index finger extended, around the arena; indicating that he’s smarter than each and every one of them, then Corman slowly raises his arms over his head, making the trademark Highrollers hand gesture (basically the wolfpack, while moving his thumbs around in the international sign for MONEY). He makes his way to the ring, as the A-Hole High Rollers fans cheer and do the "Icon" worship wave as Corman nods, points, and smiles at the camera. He climbs the stairs, planting each foot, and walks across the apron. He stops and the referee holds open the ropes as Corman enters the ring. Corman smirks and again repeats the High Rollers hand gesture by the ropes.
vs.
Non-Title
The two slowly approach each other, wary of what the other might do. Duncan looks for a punch which Steve blocks, throwing a punch of his own. Steve sends Aries off to the ropes, where Aries ducks a clothesline. Aries runs to the opposite set and springs off the second rope, nailing an Enter Gideon (Beautiful Disaster Kick). Aries tries for the quick win and gets two. Steve gets back up only to be taken back down with a leg sweep. Duncan tries for an elbow drop but Steve rolls out of the way. Steve grabs Aries' head and delivers a Coconut Smash (off knee), then a Double Handed Headbutt. Steve runs the ropes and nails Aries with a Running boot to the face. Steve hits Aries with a Falling Fist Drop. This gets a one count. Steve lifts Aries to his feet where Aries throws several punches and a clothesline, Steve ducks the line and promptly lifts Aries up for the The Iconic Slam (Rock Bottom). Steve removes his elbow pad and tosses it into the crowd, and then ascends to the top turnbuckle. Steve dives off with the Superstar Elbow (Test-esk flying elbow), which connects with the canvas as Aries moves out of the way. Aries hooks Steve's head and delivers an Orton style backbreaker. Steve is on his knees, clutching his back, when Aries hits him with stiff kicks to the sternum. Steve manages to catch a kick, stands up and delivers a Leg Hook Chokeslam. Steve then hooks Aries and slams him with a Half Nelson/Half Waistlock, leaping mat slam. This sets up The Famouser (Corman Crippler Crossface), but Aries maneuvers to the ropes before it can get locked in. Matt Baker tries to keep Steve away since Duncan is at the rope, which allows Duncan to get a quick cheap shot in. Duncan picks Steve up and plants him with the San Diego Driver (Full Nelson pickup released into a wheelbarrow facebuster). This gets a two count, which causes Aries to say "screw it", and waves to the back, where Jonathan Fhenix sprints down the ramp. The two start kicking and stomping at Steve, forcing Baker to call for the bell.
Salvatore Pellegrino: Your winner by disqualification, Steve Corman!
Mike Vincent: Not surprising by The Alliance of Truth, but they should know the Corman Guys will be in toe.
Cole Haywood: And here they come!
Ethan Cutler slides into the ring first and is thrown right back out by Fhenix. This allows Jack Adams to attack Fhenix. Adams manages to dump Fhenix out, while meanwhile Aries and Corman are fighting. Adams looks to help Steve, when he suddenly gets two knees to the back and is trapped in Condeo ut Revolutio (Bank Statement) from Gabe Shelley! David Slayton has also hit the ring and nails Corman with The Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music)! He looks to give another to Aries, but Aries hits the mat before it connects and rolls out of the ring, just avoiding getting his head kicked off. Shelley breaks his hold and he and Slayton stand tall while The Alliance of Truth regroup and head to the back, saving themselves for another time.
Mike Vincent: Gabe Shelley and David Slayton picking up some revenge after being the victims the past few weeks. That's all we have time for, tune back next week!
