Episode XXXVIII
The cameras pan across the crowd before resting on the commentary table.
Lily Luna: This is the last set of shows before a blockbuster week starting June 27, this is The Alternative and as always, I'm Lily Luna joined by Chris Pierce.
Chris Pierce: AXW vs. BWF: Domination and AXW Rise are just around the corner, and the week following that we'll find out who the first entrants are into the AXW Hall of Fame.
Lily Luna: I'm very excited for that, as well as the action we're about to see tonight, so let's not waste any more time!
danieltidwell.bandcamp.com/track/save-the-dinosaurs-super-mario-world
Through flashing reds and blues, Mac emerges, thrusting his arms up and down doing “The Mario” as “Save The Dinosaurs” by Daniel Tidwell blares.
Jen Brunelli: This opening contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, representing The Nintendudes, from Redmond, Washington, weighing in at 240 pounds, "Player One" MAC ICARUS!
Mac enters the ring, doing a jump right out of Super Mario Bros, fist in the air before stomping back over to his corner, the music fading out.
"Cut the Cord" starts as Bray Coleman creepily walks out in a top hat with holes in it and a torn up trench coat,
Jen Brunelli: And his opponent, representing Beauty and the Jekyll, from Hoboken, New Jersey, weighing in at 226 pounds, "The Krazy Karney" BRAY COLEMAN!
he walks down to the ring and when he gets to the end of the ramp he crouches down to remove his hat then his coat and he runs into the ring and lays on the mat staring at his opponent(s)
Bray gets Mac in a side headlock. Mac pushes him off to the ropes and lifts him for a high flap jack. Mac runs the ropes and nails Bray with a running yakuza kick. Bray gets back to his feet and walks into a hip toss. Mac tries or an elbow drop but Bray moves out of the way. Bray stuns Mac with a Superkick, then fully takes him down with a Discus Clothesline. Bray now takes to the ropes for a Running Leg Drop for a two count. Bray whips Mac to the ropes and slams him hard to the mat with The Ferris Wheel (Tilt-a-world Slam). Bray heads up top for a Diving Knee Drop. Bray hooks the head of Mac, perhaps looking or the Karnival Ride (Small Package Driver), but in a swift motion Mac gets free and plants Bray to the canvas with Warp Zone (Cross Rhodes) for the victory.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, MAC ICARUS!
Lily Luna: Both these teams still in a war to establish themselves, but it's Mac Icarus of The Nintendudes who picks up the win tonight.
Chris Pierce: Both very intriguing teams to say the least, I'm looking forward to seeing both develop here in AXW.
Link Zapper joins his tag team partner in the ring as the duo celebrate the win.
Mondays!
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" plays and when the whole band enters, Jesus Lorenzo makes his out from the back.
Jen Brunelli: This next contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 229 pounds, JESUS LORENZO!
He walks a brisk pace to the ring, slides in and climbs the turnbuckle, using his left hand to smack his elbow, referencing his WWJD finisher.
The lights all go out and "Miseria Cantare" by AFI starts as a single spotlight shines on the entrance as Damien Steele is standing in the entrance hair in front of his face as at the 45 second mark of the song. Damien flips his hair back and starts to walk down to the ring, as the words of the song start.
LOVE... YOUR HATE...
Damien Steele makes no connection to any fans that might be throwing insults his way, almost as if he is only focused on the ring, and more specifically his opponent.
Jen Brunelli: And his opponent, representing The Steve Corman Guys, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 221 pounds, he is "The Vicious One" DAMIEN STEELE!
YOUR... FAITH LOST...
Steele reaches the ring as he walks around to the steps.
YOU... ARE NOW...
Damien waits at the bottom of the steps keeping his eyes on his opponent.
ONE... OF US...
A wicked smile comes across his face as the words of the song repeat again just a little bit faster this time.
LOVE... YOUR HATE... YOUR... FAITH LOST... YOU... ARE NOW... ONE... OF US...
Steele takes one step up the steps, still keeping his eyes locked on his opponent till he reaches the top step and wipes his feet before entering the ring never taking his eyes off his opponent.
Jesus and Damien go to lock up, until Jesus uses his amateur background to take Steele to the mat. Jesus delivers a number of Palm Strikes to the chest, topping it off with one to the face. Jesus takes Steele down with a Reverse STO. Jesus looks for a Roundhouse Kick which Steele ducks. Steele lifts Jesus up for a Falcon Arrow for a two count. Steele plants Jesus with a Belly to Back Complete Shot. Steele drives Jesus to the mat with a Fishermen DDT into a cradle pin, another two count. Steele goes for a Hurricanrana that Jesus counters with a Powerbomb. Jesus nearly breaks Damien in half with a Double Underhook Backbreaker. Jesus brings Steele towards the ropes where he executes a Rope Assisted Swinging Neckbreaker. Steele kicks out of a pin attempt and crawls to the corner to help himself up. Jesus stays on the attack with some Shoulder Thrusts. Jesus delivers a big T-Bone Suplex. Jesus shouts "Praise Jesus!" before executing the move of the same name (Hand on Forehead + Snap STO). Jesus is frustrated when this gets only two. Jesus hooks Steele for the Jesusplex (Regalplex) but Steele elbows himself free and delivers a Pele Kick. Steele hoists Jesus onto his shoulders and starts an Airplane Spin, before throwing Jesus out for the F-5. Damien rapidly stomps his feet as he waits for Jesus to get in position, then nails him with the Avada Kedavra. Damien backs to the corner, awaiting for Jesus to get in the right position as he's perhaps looking for the Loony Stomp, and that's when he sees Deimos walking down the ramp. Steele walks to the ropes and yells at Deimos, Deimos stopping at the bottom of the ramp and crosses his arms. Steele turns back around and crumbles to the mat as he's hit with WWJD (Rolling Elbow)! Jesus covers with a lateral press.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, JESUS LORENZO!
Lily Luna: Despite a distraction, this is still a big win for Jesus Lorenzo.
Chris Pierce: I would have liked to have seen a clear cut winner without the presence of Deimos here, but I will certainly not be telling that to Deimos's face.
Gus Ramos raises the hand of Jesus before he exits the ring. Deimos enters the ring and drops Damien with an Art of War (Double Underhook Stalling Brainbuster DDT). We hear Deimos say "See you in Los Angeles." before we fade to advertisements.
Tuesdays on the BWF Network!
"Invincible" by Amaranthe hits, the fast pounding drums blaring loudly from the speakers as the lights dim completely. They come back to Android 18 standing at the entrance ramp, head down, the words 'The code awakens me' flash along the Alternatron behind her as she opens her eyes and brings her head up slowly. She walks stoically down the ramp, a smirk spreading over her face as she goes.
Jen Brunelli: This is your Alternative Main Event, a Fatal Four Way set for one fall! Introducing first, from Cork, Ireland, weighing 135 pounds, ANDROID 18!
She stops in the middle of the ramp, raising her hands to actually sign the words 'I am Invincible.' Before continuing on and leaping straight up onto the ring post, she signs ''I am Invincible' one more time, entering the ring and awaiting the match to start.
“S-P-I-R-I-T
Spirit!! Let’s hear it!!
S-P-I-R-I-T
Spirit!! Let’s hear it!!”
Blue strobe lights roams around the arena like a trance as the opening tune of "Happy Song” by Bring Me The Horizon blares out of the PA system.
“LET’S GO!”
Out comes Janet Hurricane, her hoodie veil blinding her face. As the tempo gets faster and faster, we see her jumping up and down, still cannot see her face. Once we hear the lyrics, Janet reveals her face to the crowd and starts shadowing punching and kicking, feeling the energy of her theme song. She then starts walking her way to the ring, bopping her head to the music and in her own zone, not giving a damn about the fans’ reaction.
Jen Brunelli: From Charlotte, North Caroline, weighing 120 pounds, she is "The Queen of the Ravenous Generation" JANET HURRICANE!
Once she enters the ring, she takes off her hoodie and does a couple of shadow boxing, again feeling the energy of the music before it fades.
"Snake Charmer" hits as a strobe light show begins. A little bit of smoke pours over the stage. A little after 30 seconds, when the snare roll comes in, is when Caitlin Shay emerges from the back. She stops on the stage, and looks around the crowd, sneering, unhappy about having to be in Fresno.
Jen Brunelli: From Pinecrest, Florida, weighing 126 pounds, CAITLIN SHAY!
She makes her way down to the ring, where she climbs onto the apron. She takes a moment to talk down to the crowd before entering the ring. She walks to the opposite ropes, with her arms spread, and a smile on her face as if to say, "I'm better than you." The music fades out as we await for the match to start.
A close up of a rain stained notebook, open to these words, spoken in a whisper by Hailey Harris.
She believed she could, so she did.
Wind from an open window blows the pages as "Stronger Than You Think" by Fireflight blares, a deep pink hue shines down on the hooded figure of one Hailey Harris, clad in a simple gray hoodie, the camera staring at the back, where a matching deep pink heart shines under the light, back around to Hailey who thrusts her arms in the air, pink pyros shooting up as Harris looks to the heavens with a smile before making her way to the ring.
Jen Brunelli: From Baltimore, Maryland, weighing 127 pounds, she is the AXW Women's Champion, "The Longshot" HAILEY HARRIS!
She tosses back her hood at ringside before scaling the ring apron and looking out on her fans, entering the ring and scaling a turnbuckle, pointing out to all of them, before making a heart with her hands, leaping off as "Stronger Than You Think" fades out. She tosses off her hoodie to reveal a fishnet and silver corset top to go with her black leather pants with pink back pockets, pink fingerless gloves, and black boots.
Android 18 and Caitlin face off, trading blows with each other, while Harris and Hurricane do the same! 18 ends up knocking Shay off her feet and immediately delivers a knee to the ribs. Shay rolls out of the ring. Harris, meanwhile, gets the advantage on Janet, only for Janet to deliver a thumb to the eye and a DDT! Android 18 and Janet collide, Janet getting in a headlock. Android shoves Janet off the ropes and Janet responds with a running knee lift! Shay attacks Janet, hitting her in the back with a forearm. She delivers another and then a Fisherman Suplex! Shay sees Harris getting up in the corner and delivers a running forearm smash! Harris stumbles out and Shay delivers a snap powerslam, follows with a pin, but Harris kicks out. Shay starts to deliver some mounted punches to Harris when she gets taken down from behind by Android 18! Janet follows by and delivers baseball slide to both, sending them out of the ring. Janet sets Harris up for the Cry of Terror (Rope Hung DDT) and connects! She waits on Harris to get to her feet, looking for the Wrath of the Hurricane (Maryse’s Heel Kick), but Android 18 pulls Janet’s legs out from under her and then yanks her from the ring! A clothesline from Android 18, then Shay delivers a dropkick to 18! Shay rolls Android back into the ring and delivers a Pendulum Backbreaker. By now, Harris is back to her feet, and Shay walks over, only to get a boot to the gut, followed by The Long Shot (Twist of Fate)! Hailey sees Janet stirring on the outside, and goes for a corkscrew plancha over the top rope and to the arena floor! It connects and Harris keeps the assault on Janet going on the outside. All the while, in the ring Android 18 approaches Shay, bends down to pull her up, and Shay rolls her up in a small package: 1, 2, 3!
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, CAITLIN SHAY!
Lily Luna: Caitlin Shay seizes the opportunity with the sneaky roll-up!
Chris Pierce: It's not about out-performing your opponents in a match like this, it's about out-smarting them, and Caitlin did just that.
Caitlin immediately gets the hell out of the ring and quickly backs up the ramp, raising her hands into the air.
Lily Luna: That's all the action we have for you, tune in to AXW on ION in just a few moments!
