Episode XLIV
We are welcomed to a small pyro display before the cameras pan across the crowd.
Lily Luna: Tonight is the last night of AXW programming before we head to Corpus Christi for Anarchy, and this is The Alternative! I'm Lily Luna joined by Chris Pierce.
Chris Pierce: Anarchy of course can be watched live on the BWF Network two weeks from tonight, but right now, it's all about The Alternative and providing you with some great action.
"How Sweet to be an Idiot" by Neil Innes as Cloud comes out of the curtains with one hand on his pocket and the other hand holding a lighter. He flicks the lighter and stares at the flame as if he was in a trance and then he points up at the sky, saying, "Rest in Peace Sensei." Cloud puts the lighter back in his pocket and makes his way to the ring.
Jen Brunelli: This opening contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, from Los Angeles, California, weighing 210 pounds, CLOUD!
He slaps hands with almost every fans and then later regrets leaving few fans hanging before entering the ring. Cloud then goes to the nearest corner and sits down like Raven, patiently waiting for the match to start
"Falling Away from me" starts as "The Chicago Cyclone" walks out with an angry look on his face,
Jen Brunelli: His opponent, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing 229 pounds, "The Chicago Cyclone" CARL BENGLY!
he struts down to the ring then he walks to the turnbuckle, and slaps it and slides into the ring.
The 6'8" Carl Bengly holds his hand up for a test of strength, but the 6'1" Cloud can't reach it. Cloud sighs after a few attempts of trying to reach Carl's hand. Carl then wraps the hand around Cloud's throat and slams him to the mat Chicago Style (Chokeslam). This gets a two count. Carl shows off his strength with a Lifting DDT, Sit-Down Powerbomb, and Chicago Crush (Running Powerslam). None of these were enough to put Cloud away. Cloud would suddenly hit The Raining God Syndrome (Superkick). Cloud follows up with Lighting Strikes Twice (Pepsi Twist) and Drift Away (Lifting Inverted DDT). Cloud is able to connect with Obscure (Moonlight Drive), which gives him his first AXW win.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, CLOUD!
Lily Luna: Cloud picks up his first AXW victory tonight.
Chris Pierce: Not to take away from this win, but the upstart Carl Bengly hasn't fared too well either. But this win will certainly help Cloud craft a solid career here.
Cloud has his hand raised and seems to be surprised that he won. Cloud exits the ring and high fives some of the fans as he makes his way to the back.

We cut backstage to Chaz Anix and Chester Andrews. Chaz is seated in a folding chair.
Chaz Anix: So here I sit, not scheduled to compete tonight. But hey, I get to wrestle on pay-per-view for once on September 10. I should be the face of this company, but instead I have to hijack a camera operator just to do this segment. I'm not competing tonight, but you know who is? Clifford Bradley. He finds some hot blonde and then suddenly he's booked regularly while I continue to just sit here, not even getting a proper chance. At Anarchy I'll show the whole world that Chaz Anix is the face of AXW.
Chaz stands up and he and his father leave the area.

The lights in the arena all turn to red, with the fans in anticipation for whats about to come. After a few seconds of this, "Megitsune" by BABYMETAL takes over the sound system.
As soon as the song plays, the red lights pulse to the beat of the drums with a figure standing in smoke, wearing a robe and a kitsune mask. At the seven second mark of the song, the figure begins to slowly make their way down the ramp. At the fourteen second mark of the song, the figure disrobes and removes their kitsune mask, now walking to the ring at a quicker pace.
Jen Brunelli: This next contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, from Hiroshima, Japan, weighing 112 pounds, "Megitsune" KATSUKO NAKAMOTO!
Katsuko makes her way up the steps and hops onto the middle turnbuckle, raising both hands into the air, doing the kitsune hand sign. She steps onto the top rope and front flips into the ring. She walks to her corner and throws strikes at the turnbuckles before her music fades out.
The opening to "Ready to Go" by Panic! at the Disco takes over the sound system as colorful lights swirl and pan across the arena. Upon the whole band entering the song, out struts a blonde haired woman. She stops right before the ramp, places a hand on her hip, and blows a kiss into the camera. She makes her way down the ramp.
Jen Brunelli: Her opponent, from Riviera Beach, Florida, weighing 127 pounds, MEGAN MITCHELL!
Megan high fives some of the ring side fans and walks around to the camera side ring apron. She climbs onto the apron and again blows a kiss to the camera. She enters the ring and climbs onto a second turnbuckle on the opposite side of the ring. She whips her hair back and runs her hands through her hair, before outstretching her arms. She steps off the turnbuckle and prepares to face her opponent.
The two lock up, with Megan delivering a Monkey Flip. Megan nails Katsuko with a Jumping Superkick, and follows up with a Dragon Suplex. Megan quickly heads to the apron where she delivers a Springboard Knee Attack, and gets a two count. Megan bounces off the ropes and is struck with a Sudden Stiff Clothesline from Katsuko. Katsuko delivers some Knee Strikes to the midsection of Megan, before taking her down with a Snap Fisherman Neckbreaker. Katsuko lifts Megan right back up, this time for a Brainbuster. Katsuko ascends to the top turnbuckle where she leaps off with a Hātosutoppā (Kairi Hojo-style Diving Elbow Drop). Megan just manages to kick out before three. Megan is sent to the ropes where Katsuko takes her down with a Japanese Arm Drag, and locks in a Fujiwara Armbar. Megan is able to use her long legs to get her foot on the rope. Megan regains control as she delivers a Uranage Backbreaker. Megan starts to lift Katsuko for the Queen of Diamonds (Suplex lift into cutter), but Katsuko reverses with a Victory Roll pin, two count. Katsuko is dropped to the mat as Megan rocks her with a Gamengiri. Megan pulls herself up to the second rope to set up January Nights (Second Rope Swanton Bomb), but Katsuko quickly gets up and climbs up with her, swiftly taking Megan down with Ue Kara Shi (Superplex, flowed into a sit-out Falcon Arrow). Lateral press cover from Katsuko gets her the three count.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, KATSUKO NAKAMOTO!
Lily Luna: I can't believe how good Katsuko is with the little experience she has.
Chris Pierce: It doesn't hurt that she was trained by Jushin Kimura and Benji Mathews, as well as having the support of the AXW fans, you can see a number of people in the crowd donning their kitsune masks.
Katsuko has her hand raised, before ghost belting, signalling that she will be the next AXW Women's Champion. She exits the ring and high fives some of the ringside fans.

Danny Hall is backstage, taping his wrists up as he prepares for his match tonight. He is approached by Craig Brooks.
Craig Brooks: Okay, I know some of my past skills haven't worked out so well, but I have a new one that I'm for sure will work.
Danny Hall: Why do you keep bothering me?
Craig Brooks: Because I'm a man of many skills, Danny, we've been through this. I'm showing you through these skills that I have what it takes to challenge you for the Light Heavyweight Championship.
Danny just lets out a deep sigh. Craig pulls out a deck of cards and shuffles them. He spreads them out.
Craig Brooks: Pick a card, look at it, and don't show me it.
Danny reluctantly grabs a card, looks at it, and hands it back. Craig reshuffles the cards. He pulls a card out.
Craig Brooks: Is this your card?
Danny Hall: No.
Craig pulls out another card.
Craig Brooks: Is this your card?
Danny Hall: No.
Craig tries again.
Craig Brooks: Is this you--
Danny Hall: No.
Craig goes to pull another card.
Danny Hall: Here, let me show you one of my skills, and maybe you can learn something.
Craig watches intently at Danny. Danny lifts his leg and kicks Craig's hand, causing the cards to fly everywhere. Danny grabs his titles and walks away. Craig kneels down on the ground and starts to pick the cards up.
Mondays on MTV2
"Rocketman" starts with all of the lights out with some smoke and one spotlight
"She packed my bags last night pre flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Then a hooded figure shows up and waits at the spotlight.
"And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Ben raises his arms simultaneously taking off his cape and walks to the ring.
Jen Brunelli: This is your Alternative Main Event set for one fall! Introducing first, from Mason City, Iowa, weighing 223 pounds, BEN "ROCKET MAN" EATR!
"Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as Hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you didn't
And all this science, I don't understand
It's just my job, five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man"
On beat with the song Ben climbs the apron and jumps on the turnbuckle.
"And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone"
Ben keeps his arms up then jumps into the ring.
"Now, I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
And I think it's gonna be a long long time"
"Dammit" plays and out walk Sam De Santa and Trent Mathews. Sam stops on the stage and places her hand on her hip. Trent steps in front of her and drops to his knees, extending his arms out as pyro rains down behind them. Once the pyro stops, Trent stands up and the two make their way down the ramp.
Jen Brunelli: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Sam De Santa, from Owasco, New York, weighing 217 pounds, TRENT MATHEWS!
Trent slides into the ring while Sam walks up the steps. Trent steps onto the middle turnbuckle, looking around at the fans. Sam stands in the ring, extending her arms towards Trent, as if telling the fans to bask in the glory that is Trent Mathews. Trent steps down and holds his arms back, allowing Sam to remove his leather jacket. Sam steps out to the apron, hangs the jacket from the ring post, and walks down the steps, while Trent readies himself for the match.
The two circle, before locking one set of hands. As they look to lock the other set, Trent kicks Ben in the gut and hits him with a forearm. Trent follows up with a European Uppercut, quickly followed by a Rolling Elbow. Trent lifts Ben for a Back Suplex, then grabs his arm to set up a Pumphandle Drop for a one count. Trent runs the ropes for momentum and executes a Scissor Kick. Trent hooks the arms of Ben and delivers a Double Underhook Backbreaker, this time for two. Trent irish whips Ben to the corner, and Ben hits Trent with a back elbow when he runs in. Ben takes Trent down with a Sling blade. Ben bounces off the ropes and hits a Running knee. Ben hooks Trent's head and plants him with a Snapmare driver. This sees two for Ben. Ben lifts Trent onto his shoulder and tosses him into the corner with a Lawn Dart. Trent ends up slumped in the corner and Ben runs in looking for a basement dropkick but Trent moves out of the way. Trent runs the ropes and nails a Running Face Wash to Ben. Trent grabs the head of Ben and runs up the turnbuckles with Trent the Ninja (Shiranui). Trent delivers a standing Trent's Twist (corkscrew senton) that earns him two. Trent runs the ropes looking for Trentsetter (Shining Wizard to the Back of the head), but Ben manages to duck it. Ben starts to set up Space Out (Future shock DDT), but Trent gets out of it and takes Ben down with an STO. Trent slams Ben down with a T-Bone Suplex, then starts to climb the turnbuckles from inside the ring. Ben isn't down for long and clubs at the back of Trent. Ben grabs hold of Trent's legs, walks him toward the center of the ring, and drops him with Eat the Mat (Reverse Alabama Slam)! Ben hooks the leg and this one is over.
Jen Brunelli: Here is your winner, BEN EATR!
Lily Luna: A big win for the Rocket Man, defeating former Light Heavyweight Champion Trent Mathews!
Chris Pierce: Let's not forget Trent used to own this whole company for half of 2015. Congratulations to Ben Eatr, a win that will certainly skyrocket him to where he wants to go.
Lily Luna: Nice pun.
Sam De Santa's hands are on her head, a frustrating loss for them. Ben happily celebrates his win, climbing a few turnbuckles while his music plays.
Lily Luna: That's it for The Alternative, tune into ION for more AXW action!
