That's right, Alternative Xperience Wrestling is back. About an hour ago, they tweeted the following:
They're very aware of their former failures, and are pretty blunt that no matter how long this run lasts, it's the last one. If they once again close shop, then that's it. That's the true end of AXW.
Some people have probably been turned off by AXW by now with all their closures, but for those hardcore AXW Faithful, this is exciting news - should they have longevity with this run.
So of course there's a lot of questions, and here's what we've gathered from our source.
Everyone's favorite pile of puke, Luke Mathews, has regained ownership of AXW. We are not certain, however, if he will be running day to day operations or if he will be the on-screen authority on shows. Speculation seems that he might have some presence, but not a lot.
All championships are officially vacant. The plan is to continue with the five we're familiar with: AXW, Women's, Tag Team, Light Heavyweight, and Xperience. The rules for the Xperience Championship are to be determined once scheduling is figured out.
AXW has been Headquartered out of Miami, Syracuse, Miami again, Los Angeles, and Miami again again. We're not certain which facility will serve as AXW's primary campus, but there have been reports of Luke Mathews sightings in the New York City area, though this could be unrelated.
AXW will continue to run their six pay-per-view schedule: RISE, Anarchy, Breakdown, Winterslam, Collide, and Horizon. No word on Supershows, but they aren't out of the question.
As for TV, there's no schedule set in stone, but it seems they're favoring a bi-weekly format. Weekly shows aren't completely off the table, so either seems possible. AXW's eponymous program will continue. The Alternative is uncertain at this time, and they'll come to a decision on it once they make a firm decision about scheduling.
They are in talks with a distributor for TV, but have kept all details confidential.
So, who's in? Well, Luke Mathews for one, but you can expect to see familiar faces: Mike Vincent, Cole Haywood, Salvatore Pellegrino, Jen Brunelli, Lily Luna, Renee Peltier, Gina Furlow, and Craig Brooks are all confirmed under contract. As for wrestlers, this news just broke, so everything is speculation. It seems there are a few who have verbally agreed to a contract, but no names have been released. Also, anyone with the last name Mathews or Mitchell always has a good chance of being hired. Contracts will also be non-exclusive, anybody signed to AXW can work anywhere else and vice versa, barring scheduling conflicts.
So, when's this start? They seem to be eager to get things started in April, but are hoping for May at the latest. Depending on when they start, the first pay-per-view will either be May's Horizon, or July's RISE.
That's all the details we have. Stay tuned for any updates.
