2016 Male Wrestler of the Year
Danny Hall
Perhaps not as hated as he thinks he is, "Mr. Most Hated" picked up Best Debut of the Year in 2015 and in one year becomes Male Wrestler of the Year. Two reigns as AXW Light Heavyweight Champion for a combined 266 days, longer than any previous holders of the title, as well as all of his incredible matches over the year, are enough to make Danny Hall AXW's Male Wrestler of the Year for 2016.
2016 Female Wrestler of the Year
Janet Hurricane
Janet Hurricane has had an incredible 2016, starting with her wars with Zoey Mathews-Mitchell to her rise as a two time AXW Women's Champion, the seemingly unstoppable Queen of the Ravenous Generation leaves 2016 as AXW's Female Competitor of the Year.
2016 Overall Wrestler of the Year
Janet Hurricane
Janet's dominant year also sees her pick up the 2016 Overall Competitor of the Year award.
2016 Tag Team of the Year
War Horse
Austin Graves and Ryan Starr - two men who can no longer stand each other - pick up the 2016 AXW Tag Team of the Year Award. Even though the group abruptly disbanded halfway through the year, War Horse continues to live on, even if just briefly, as they win this award.
2016 Best Champion of the Year
Steve Corman
A good chunk of 2016 saw Steve Corman as AXW Champion. It's because of this that Steve leaves 2016 as AXW's Best Champion of the Year. Defeating David Slayton a mere one week after David won the title at Horizon, Steve went on to hold the title for a record breaking 179 days.
2016 Match of the Year
AXW Light Heavyweight Championship Tables Ladders and Chairs - Danny Hall vs. Acer Stone [Winterslam]
2016 started off with a bang that saw Danny Hall defend his AXW Light Heavyweight Championship in a TLC Match against Acer Stone. These two put everything they had on the line in this thrilling contest--the longest on the show--that saw a result that no one saw coming: both men falling to the mat with possession of the Light Heavyweight Championship. It's natural that a contest of this nature becomes Match of the Year.
2016 Best PPV of the Year
RISE
It seems only fitting that AXW's flagship pay-per-view event, Rise, wins the Best PPV of the Year Award. With Lethal Weapons dethroning War Horse, an incredible Six Woman Ladder Match, the return of Bruiser Lazzou, a Triple Threat AXW Championship Match, and much much more, Rise is the Best AXW PPV of the Year.
2016 Surprising Moment of the Year
Chicks & America Return
After going their own ways after the closing of AXW in 2013, two of the three original members of Chicks & America made a shocking return to AXW in 2016 on AXW 50. It wasn't a special one off appearance either, it was the legitimate unannounced reunion of AXW's favorite group, which is why the return of Chicks & America is your 2016 Most Surprising Moment of the Year Award winner.
2016 Best Debut of the Year
Anthony Royal
Anthony Royal made his debut on The Alternative Ep. 33, where he defeated Braydon Easton. Anthony displayed quite a bit of aggressiveness in the match, enough for him to ear the AXW Best Debut of the Year Award.
